I ran into this guy while using a heavily focused shotgun build. I spent most of my ammo for my other gun clearing out the guys he summons and when he goes into rage mode his melee attacks are crazy strong and fast. It took me almost 2 hours before I finally beat him through phosphorus rounds and getting lucky trying to slow him down on the terrain.
