Do you over level before a boss?
NEVER!
Yes. I also look up the boss online to know his weaknesses and what moves to look out for, along with the best team composition/strategy to beat him. I play on hard so I figure it'sfine.

No, but my completionist playstyle usually makes me overleveled anyway.

i hope for your sake that this is b8
I tend to be the right level for JRPG bosses:
>Random encounters
I fight in every encounter. Unless I'm backtracking and the monsters are significantly weaker.
>Run up to the monster
Fight every monster if it's a linear path. In more open spaces, I fight the mobs on my way to treasure chests (not necessarily every monster on the field).
If I lose to a boss, it's usually because I'm not employing the correct tactic or resources.

I do this and I play on easiest difficulty.

Personally I fight bosses at the lowest level on the hardest difficulty. That way I get the proper experience that the developers balanced the game around, and I get to make full use of the battle system to win. Fighting random battles takes away from the required tactics and makes the boss fights boring.
That's just my reasoning. I'd like to know why other people fight / don't fight random battles.

>mfw I just spent an hour fighting not even a hard boss in SAO:HF
>go into a boss about 30 levels underleveled
>abuse savestates and eventually beat it after 50+ tries.
