First 2 chapters are basically a tutorial with nothing real interesting and those fucking hide and seek missions. But like the end of chapter 4? I think it starts picking up and the online is a blast and still active. Just learn to become one with the thorn and the combat is flawless.

Don't torture yourself with an 8GB for full digital. Even my 16GB works great in a full digital Vita by transferring games I've beaten to my PC. I have one or two that I'm playing installed and one or two long-term standbys like Toukiden or EDF, and that's enough. With 8 though you'd only be able to hold two large games.

You can get by with just 8GB but you won't want to. Back up games to your PC/PS3 for storage since save data is tied to game data, and buy physical copies when you can.

Spelunky, Hotline Miami 1 and 2, Sayonara Umihara Kawase.
Muramasa and Persona 4 are the must-have games for the system.
After that it comes down to personal taste. If you like RPGs, Oreshika is worth trying. It's a really unique RPG about breeding family members with gods to make a complex family tree resulting in super soldiers. It's very difficult to get into at first, but once you do, it's one of the best games on the system.

It's probably better to play TitS first because there are recurring characters and stuff going on in the background that continues on from the previous games.
Shinobido 2 always seems to be overlooked. It's a stealth game in the same vein as Tenchu.
I also didn't see Dungeon Travelers 2 mentioned. It's an absurdly good dungeon crawler.
Just a warning don't buy the 1000 used. sometimes the screen could be bad and in dark screens you'll see blotches on the screen.

That's the first game I bought for my Vita. I really wish I'd bought the English version instead and saved myself 30 bucks, I in the middle of September and having a really hard time convincing myself to finish it. Only reason I haven't already dropped it is because I bought it, and I can't even sell it since I bought the digital version. It was pretty interesting at first, I liked all of April, that's why I bought the game. Now I'm wishing I'd just kept playing the emulated PS2 version.
Well, at least I got Dragon's Crown, that should be much more fun, Muramasa and Odin Sphere are also on the list.
