wew lad, that means nothing. TTK was $40 and was simply overpriced. I beat all the content except the raid and the hidden exotic quests in literally 24 hours. After that, it's just grindy shit again, doing shit you've already done before, like that long ass Crucible quest line, or the Sword quest lines. TTK was a TWENTY dollar DLC, not a $40. That's the third time Bungie has overpriced the fuck out of their DLC, it should be plainly obvious to anyone who actually cares about their money that Bungie WILL rip you off again

I bought all the expansions within week of release and charted new things along with /dg/.
Of course there was some downtime between expansions, but the game had my exclusive attention for at least six weeks after release.
Not ones that I play vidya with. If I played with anyone else it was with /dg/ or people from LFG sites.Being on Xbone made it often difficult to find people here to play it with anyway.
I lost a ton of sleep if that counts. You know around Skyrim's release where all the "journalists" joked about losing track of time and noticing the sunrise? That was me with Destiny, often.

Raid is great, new area is fun and atmospheric, new guns are satisfying. There's actually shit to do in the new area instead of just normal Patrol quests. Special enemies you can hunt, shit like that. Story content is far better than vanilla, Cayde is entertaining and gets a lot of screentime.

I paid forty fucking dollars for an add on, I expect a solid amount of new content, not reused assets and 'hey dumbass, go here and kill this reskinned wizard'. That kinda shit can get by in the base game, but when you're talking about a forty dollar expansion, you want some new, exciting shit. Sadly the new exciting shit lasts for about 3 hours, because by then you've beaten the new campaign levels and strikes. If they used old areas in a meaningful way, I wouldn't mind. But there's like 6 missions where you go to an old area, attack that Hologram of oryx, it disappears, and that's the level. That takes only like 3 minutes and it reuses old areas, yet people act like this is really acceptable. It isn't. You're getting fucked and I don't know why Destiny fans are so cucked. I stopped playing a long time ago but I had like 600 hours into Destiny, but I'm not so brain damaged by it I can't even see it's flaws. That's why arguing with Destiny fans are impossible. Bungie will hand them shit for $20 and Destiny fans will defend it to the death.

It was the same with me but then I picked up the legendary edition with all the dlc when it was on sale and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a well made game and does FPS RPG the right way.
I didn't care for borderlands and I realized in a fps "RPG" I don't wanna run around an open world half the time. The genre is made for action on action, dropping you in zones it the only way to do it unless it's linear. It's a great game.

But yes, besides those quests, which were time locked, you can easily see everything TTK has to offer in an incredibly short amount of time.

Y1 Destiny hard mode was 1 level above max starting with the first dlc. That meant enemies did more damage to you and you dealt less damage to them.(About 10% per level. 4 levels above you meant you did 0 damage to them)
Starting Y2 they changed the scaling where being 20 levels under recommended is only about 5% difference
I put about 1000 hours into this game before I quit.

I bought the game got all expansion packs and played since release.
Its shit. The devs thought players are idiots and when player figured out exploits and how to maximize damage i knew it was over. We wanted complex battles with bosses that had weak spots and complex multiple ways to deal with things. All we got were bullet sponges and then bullet sponges that need you to hold or do a specific thing.
And i could forgive it all if i did not have to spend half and hour to and hour to find a raid group to only have it fall apart randomly and never be able to get help at my checkpoint.

I think it's pretty obvious by this point that the game has a pretty stable playerbase. The people that dropped it after vanilla was so barren probably won't be won back, but what's the point in trying to attract them when it's in Bungie's interests to deliver worthwhile content to the consumers they addicted?
I'm nearing current grimoire cap and am grinding for Tier 12 builds. There's plenty to do, especially if you have a group of buddies to do it with. Just went 9-0 with two of my friends last night in Trials for the first time in months and it felt fucking great.
If you try and play this game solo, you're gonna have a mediocre time. The best content is locked behind group activities. It's hardly the game's fault you have no friends interested in playing it with you.
One of its major flaws is the accessibility. I definitely wish it had more in-game options for LFGing and the like, but it's far from dead.
Play it or don't, doesn't matter to me.

Maybe you should actually take a break for a while. I stopped playing for 6 months back during Y1 and came back for HoW. Felt great experiencing all of the DLC in one go. I've kept up since then.

the dark below iron banner weapons were probably the most consistent set of solid weapons in the game
the vog weapons were all great save for 2 or 3

Fatebringer is just a Handcannon with good perks, that's my point. 'Good weapons' in Destiny just means right perks and a good balance of Impact/RoF/Range. That's all it is. I loved my Vision of Confluence but at the end of the day, it's just a scout rifle with the right perks. That's literally all it is. It's nothing amazing, it's not like it's own unique weapon. That's my point.

Why grind in the first place? Having Fatebringer, for example, made PvE content really easy. But that's an end game weapon, once you have it, you've probably already seen everything PvE has to offer, so there's no point in having it, you don't need it, you've already seen all the PvE content anyway. This is the weird mindset Destiny players get themselves into. "I must grind for this weapon". Why? What are you going to do when you get that weapon? Grind with it for a different weapon? If Destiny had more endgame PvE content we wouldn't be having this conversation, but it doesn't, Destiny is really barebones.

I'm a collector and I enjoy playing around with different weapons and such. Twilight garrison and doctrine of passing was some of the most fun I've ever had, especially for striker trials runs. I also like grinding for fashion and looking sleek yo.
That and grinding is just about all you can do, after youve already done the content a few times. Loot drops give you the illusion of progression for successive runs

Only problem i have with the game is that my router hates it for some reason. Port forwarded, static ip, resets and reinstalls out the ass, and I'll still be booted to orbit or title screen with some animal error code.
