You're not changing an established character who's been the same for his entire history like Mario or Samus. Link is always a different guy with a distinct new design, new backstory, new home town and new friend to save, and outside of one or two games has no personality to speak of. He's a player avatar who's constantly changed to suit his new game, whether it requires him to be bumbling cartoon pirate, an anime highschool student or four different color codes people.

Rupee glitch still works, if you want to press your luck at that.
Twilight Map, one tip I can give you is to really only get into it when you're in the high 70s+ or even low 100s. It was basically designed around the whole increase in level cap.
Keep in mind the difficulty color that you don't see anymore: Green is easiest, then it goes Yellow, Purple, Orange, Blue, and Red. Red levels are the ones you can take more damage on, and on the Termina map you can take more damage in Blue stages (but not AS much as Red stages).
Don't underestimate Cia. She's good at clearing keeps fast, tears through bosses, and all around is a strong character for a lot of stages. Volga is also OP. Ganondorf now has options with both the Sonic speed of the Trident, or the ridiculous keep clearing power of his Great Swords C6.
Basically the only real thing is "just grind more". Defense IS a stat, but it's a hidden one, and even as you get higher levels the game sort of decides just how much damage you'll take in a level.

Rupee Glitch is basically an overflow glitch. Something about killing a boss while it has the giant weak point ring around it but NOT with a weakpoint attack. It's easiest to perform on Gohma, but I've never pulled it off. Google it. If you can do it, it maxes out your rupees.
