I see what you mean but there has to be a good balance. DR1 was serious, and it took a bunch of wacky shit and played it totally straight. DR2 was overly camp and winked at the audience too much. It tried too hard. Never played DR3, but my understanding is that it went way too hard in the other direction.

FAAAANTASTIC!Dead Rising 1's appeal hasn't been replicated, for me. Being plopped in a mall with dozens of zombies on screen with a plethora of storefronts to wander into and pick things up to purpose into weapons, clothing, or forts was so cool at the time. Then it had the camera system. Dead Rising 1 had heart.

I'd also like the world map to be a Mall surrounded by a town. The Mall would be dangerous but it'd be a refuge from the town proper which would be a late game area for resources due to its difficulty.

2 was great but Capcom didnt let Blue Castle use MT Framework.
They were forced to develop a new engine in house and it obviously affected the game.
Combo weapons were a step in the wrong direction though.

I don't really care whether they bring back vehicles or not but I'd like the map to not feel so tedious to navigate. I like how there were blueprints and magazines literally everywhere in DR3 so more of that would be nice.
Another thing I'd like is a better difficulty curve, once you get into DR3's late game everything because super easy to the point that it was just boring, it's like they give you all this power and nothing that can really go up against it.

I beat it but my problem with the game is that it's really clunky and having weapons constantly break apart made the early part of the game tedious since you can't combine shit and you're stuck with nail bats and spiked boxing gloves for a long ass time
