Because it's ME. There's nothing to talk about. The normies don't care about it beyond playing it, and the fans aren't the type to talk about in places like this.

I'm highly anticipating it yet I don't go making threads. It's not that type of game.

I really liked the first game too and I have preordered this but I pretty much know already that it wont be that great. I've seen the previews, and fucking unlocking basic skills just has no place in the game. I just hope the time trials will be good once you actually have all that stuff unlocked.

>>
>>340294617
I played the beta. It was a solid 9/10. Unlocking is literally the only criticism I had, but you get all the core shit within the hour anyway.

It's not about just liking ME. I spent over 200 hours speedrunning the thing, and that's how I'm approaching this one. I don't care about the story. All I care about is speedrunning, and I was on the fence about MEC until I started playing the Dash modes.

As long as they have a lot of them (and they fix some bugs) it'll be a 10/10 for any true ME fan.

Well, we have "uncrackable" encryption already that must be brute forced. It's not a far stretch to imagine it'd some day make its way to DRM I guess.

>>340295562

>>
>>340295414
>THEY CANT CRACK IT
Most of the crackers in scene groups today couldn't crack their way out of a paper bag. Most games released in the last decade could be 'cracked' by just dropping a generic dll into the game's folder. All the real talent has left the scene out of boredom.

Just give it some time and the talent will come back.

>>340297012
It was fun going back to Banjo-Tooie after doing Kazooie again with the Rare Replay release.

I had the immediate dread of realizing that I was going to have to learn moves again like it was Metroid or something, but no, straight up, you already have EVERY single move from the previous game, even the unlocked or special ones. They even have a good story justification for the new moves by being from a new teacher. So not only do you get all of your old moveset, you also get a bunch of new moves as well.

To be fair, MEC is a prequel, so it would make sense that Faith wouldn't know everything at the start, but it also sucks knowing that she's going to have a bunch of stuff that she doesn't have in the sequel. It's basically pointless for that reason.

Hard mode alien is "true mode" intended by the devs. brutal and unforgiving.

the alien sometimes pretends to leave rooms, waits right outside and then either rapes you as soon as you make a noise, or randomly walks back in if he suspects you're in that room, hiding.

As a non-pirate myself, kindly fuck you with a rusted chainsaw.

Given the number of games that benefited from piracy and being cracked - if only for modding; given the number of people that never could have had access to some games if not for piracy, yet thankfully still managed to be part of the bublic debate about it thanks to it; given how companies don't give a flying fuck about long term survival of their products (did Activision release patches last year to make their old games playable again when MS removed in a security update some components necessary for some DRMs to work, or are the few games we still have access to right now that needed them the direct product of the work of pirates?) I much prefer a video game market with a healthy pirate scene.

>>
>>340298070
It's the same game at heart, which is what matters most to me. Initially I was worried about it being open world, but as I've said before, they've catered to both the casual and speedrunning audience.

Spent a long time in the beta and it was a 9/10 for me. Can only imagine the full game being better.

Main thing to remember with ME is that its a racing game. It's about doing things over and over again to get the best time. MEC still contains that, but if you aren't willing to keep playing it over and over, then it won't appeal to you.
>>
>>340298070
I'm not one to play SJW shit, but I haven't seen anything even approaching that from this game. My main issue is why the fuck does it have to be open-world? Why would they give it an experience system that locks away moves instead of just giving us all of them right away?
>>
>>340292841
Anyone know how long it is or how much content it has?
>>
>>340292841

Because I haven't got it yet. I've heard it has problems with cutscenes so I would like to wait until those are sorted out. But I will be getting it, I've waited too long to not get it.

I've read some of the complaints but none of them really bother me. I've read that you don't need internet to play the game, only to get your stats on the leaderboard. The combat seems leagues ahead of the first game. I'm not thrilled about the forced fight parts, but the first game had them too and I had fun with those. The unlock skill trees are definitely gay, but I don't mind all that much because first game didn't really start until after you played through it once to turn off runner vision. I just hope they gave that option for this one.

My biggest complaint so far is the lack of color in the world. It has a lot of shiny whites and blacks but the colors are limited to little strips here and there. And while Catalyst looks great, it looks less realistic than the original. The reflections and glare cast this haze over the environment while the original game was clear and looked more like what the actual human eye would see. Same reason Crysis 1 looked better than the following Crysis games.
>>
>>340297441
>force you to load up their personal launchers and where installing the game can take 45 minutes to and hour because its so fucking repacked

To remain fair, this addresses a particular need for people downloading in countries that still have download caps.
It's not just made gratuitously to spite people. If anything it's a good example of how pirates address needs of customers that companies don't care to address themselves. Valve is notoriously uncaring and wasteful in that regard.

The motion sickness is related to fps drops in movement and also sometimes is how the engine plays with the camera.
If you keep solid 75fps on a dk2, or 90fps in both the rift and the vive, it will be up to the guy who controls the camera in game to fuck your shit up.
Please dont let poorfags with shit machines who cant keep solid fps tell you otherwise.

I really loved the first game.
This game just feels really hollow, if that makes any sense.
The first game was a fun, simple concept and a story to explain it.
This one feels like they're trying too hard to make it the sort of game that you can just sit down, play an hour or two, and leave without missing anything.
The first game was linear, and it benefitted from that in the sense that the levels were designed to be played in one go and they were built with your free running in mind.
This seems more like the common trend of releasing a game that's really open to a fault
>>
>>340298863
You still get motion sick if your eyes believe that you are moving while your balance is telling you you're stationary, i.e. if you're sitting still and playing a game that's made to make you feel like you're running, jumping and rolling around like an absolute madman. People already got motion sick just from playing the game on their monitors, that's why they added the little dot in the center of the screen. VR will just exacerbate the problem.

I was a big fan of the original (I have it on consoles and PC) and have played it quite a lot.

That said, it seems as though rather than improving on the flawed but fun original formula they have homogenized a lot of weaker ideas into the game, turning it into something so different it reminds me of the change from Fallout 2 to Fallout 3.

The SlobsJustWhine aspect hasn't been demonstrated enough, but I've no doubt it is there, all games are doing it now, women are still trending, silly boys, etcetera.

I honestly hope they put in pressing X/A to jump, not because I want it, but because if we're going to see it go down, let's see it really go down in flames.
>>
>>340300168
MGS5 isn't EA.

EA and origin are notorious for keeping their prices stupidly high for ages. It took dragon age inq like 4 years to come down from full price on origin.
>>
>>340300024
both techs exist.
to play non VR games, you use 3d injectors like vorpx or perception, they have a working games, but emulators are not there, at least not for now, and emulating the game if im not wrong was done long ago.
If you are patient enough, you will see it, it will be totally retarded if nintendo dosent do something immersive with the VR is going to make, but i think if they are delaying the shit to implement it, it means part or all of the launch titles are not going to be VR, or will be somehow made into VR.

You're dumb if you think metacritic is anything else than people brigading for their favorite companies. For every person that takes it seriously there are at least 100 people who will either give a game 0/10 or 10/10 depending on where their brand loyalty is. And since EA has been voted the worst American company 2 years in a row now it's quite clear where it is.

I'm not saying the game is good, I haven't played it, but you can bet that 99% of the people reviewing it on metacritic haven't either.
>>
>>340298070

The first one is one of my favorite games. I haven't played Catalyst yet, but I intend to buy it. I've read the complaints with Catalyst as I've read the complaints with the original ME. While valid, they didn't stop me from loving the hell out of the original and I doubt they will stop me from loving Catalyst.
>>

Why the fuck would I want to pay EA for trashing games I loved. Am I going to pay them for a new NFS? FUCK no, they don't deserve my money for ruining it. If they start doing a good job again, I'll buy them. But they aren't getting a cent out of me until after they've done a good job once again within the specific series. That company has bought out and killed so many of my childhood games without a single fuck given for anything but money.
