What games truly have the best pistol gunplay?
Halo CE
Mirror's Edge (original)
The firearm combat was so great in it because it was so minimal. You pick up a gun, empty the magazine into a couple of cops then throw away the gun and continue on. You don't keep it in your waistband, you don't wield it like its your one true calling. Its a temporary solution to a temporary problem and then its out of your life as quickly as it came into it. You even dispose of it the way you'd want the character to dispose of it. Faith just tosses it aside because it meant nothing to her. In her hand one moment, lifeless on the ground in the next moment.
Receiver you nigger

This. Would love a multiplayer or survival game that played that like.
>>340284938
3deep5me analysis just to say:
>limited ammo
>>340285409
ugh.. that would be too problematic. THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!1 we cant teach them how to use assault weapons with black clips and a shoulder thing that goes up.
>>340286438
nah man it was intentional in design. its not like a traditional fps where you carry a gun and have to scrounge for more ammo. its more like keys in a dungeon crawler. You use them to get past certain doors, but in mirrors edge you obviously never NEED the 'keys'

FUCK PISTOLS
Why is there not a Shadow game other than the unreleased SNES beat-em-up?
The character is timeless but the only media we've gotten lately is the shit Dynamite comics.
Red Dead Redemption
>>340287431
Dynamite is a dogshit publisher (though most are anyway) but they actually have put out good Shadow stuff on the occasion they get people who know what to do with him
>>340287525
mostly this, shame about the console controls
>>340287743
original idea, do not steal
>>340288061
pretty sure Shadow predates Preacher by a few decades
>>340285409
>>340284997
>Receiver multiplayer (survival/elimination, most likely)
>You don't start with guns
>Spread around in random places (not set places, to avoid people learning where's the best place to run to)
>Minimal melee added
>Can knock gun out of other players' hands when close enough
>The drones are still a thing
>>340287743
And most of the time they don't. I threw a lot of money at them but how the fuck did their relaunch turn into some fucking WWII comic?
Also Twilight Zone x The Shadow should be a great idea but it's boring as fuuuuck. Nothing but words, and almost no actual Shadow.
>>340288647
that's because the retards started the relaunch with Garth Ennis who fucking admitted outright he doesn't even know this character and was only in it for a paycheck
>>340288171
well, none of them are original
>>340288061
>Implying
Son, do you know what The Shadow is?
>>340287431
The character has had very little popularity since Batman came out and the shitty movie basically killed him forever.
Shame because he's Grade A material for a gritty Dredd-esque one and done action movie.
>>340289626
he's had successful comics over the years, the 80's and 90's were actually big decades for him
unfortunately he's owned by the same company that owns reddit, a fate worse than death
>>340289626
He lasted quite some time after Batman came out, don't forget Batman was plagiarized from him. He waned in popularity around the early 1950's, which is just as well since I don't think he belonged in that era anyway.
>>340289774
This, 80s shadow comics are great
>>340289626
a Shadow movie done the right way would be a horror movie. if you read the original magazine stories he is clearly meant to be a phantasmal creature. and he was inspired by Dracula no less.
>>340287743
What the fuck is even happening there
the guy held at gunpoint uses ventriloquism to make it sound like it was one of the lackeys who had the whatever all along shamalamiang twist.
Then the gun holder turns, to keep aiming the same guy he was holding
Then someone shoots the fattie holding a knife
The guy with the gunturns to his dead lackey then the ventriloquism does some mental ring powers shit.
What the fuck is this even, I doubt there's enough context to have this making the minimal amount of sense
>>340291308
I have no idea what the fuck you're even saying.
>>340291308
Are you some kind of fucking retard?
He obscured himself then used his illusion powers to make the gunman think his accomplice was the victim
Max Payne 3
>but muh shit story
'most' of you faggots hate story in video games anyway
>>340284474
>That Shadow inspired skin for McCree in Overwatch
And that's sadly the only thing I'm interested on about the game
>>340284474
Surprised no one said red dead redemption
>>340292516
that's a cowboy though
XIII
Man, every other shit-tier hero is getting a movie, and The Shadow is the only one that I'd actually want to see adapted.Grendel vs. The Shadow was loads of fun.
>>340287431
This level of shitposting
>>340294068
not enough quips for modern capeshit
Keep in mind though Doc Savage is getting a movie and is being played by the Rock so maybe one day.
>>340294551
I'll fucking fight you
Are you talking shit about The Shadow?
>>340294747
Yeah, I dunno how well modern audiences would react to an edgy vigilante that gun down criminals and press gangs the people he saves into a surveillance network. Especially if he doesn't quip every five seconds. But people fucking love the Punisher, so who knows.
>>340284938
Shooting anyone in ME, what a pleb
>>340294747
>>340295201
The fucking Baldwin movie had quips and that was 20 years ago
>Next time you get to be on top
What the FUCK did he mean by this
>>340295201
There's a possibility that it would an audience from the people who are bored of most modern superheros NOT killing criminals.
If they at least had a side character point it out to him at some point during the movie, I think it'd be fine.
>>340294068
Would probably do better on TV or a Netflix original series, Daredevil found an audience that way but probably would flop as a major Marvel movie.
Quick shooting into melee feels really good. The enemy damage model is also great.
>>340295642
>>340295519
I just don't trust any studio out there to not make a hash out of it and go for the wrong sort of "edgyness". The tone should be wierd and morbid, with lots of dry humour, not just "Shoot Gunman murders some thugs".

>>340287431
Fallout 4 referenced him :^)
>>340296840
being that he wears a literal fedora, in addition to a black and red color scheme with a cape and dual wielding, any kind of mainstream attempt would cater to the worst possible crowd imaginable
tfw no open world Shadow Game
>>340297725
Wouldve liked to see Rocksteady do it
>>340298457
L.A. Noir mixed with Mafia 2/Saboteur/Death to spies 2
>>340297586
That's exactly what I'm afraid of.
>>340289154
no... :(
>>340299231
1920s pulp hero who went on to star is an extremely
popular radio drama.
Sort of the original superhero alongside The Phantom
Significantly predates Preacher
>>340297426
pretty much the best part of the game
>today you face..THE SHROUD!!!
>>340299490
I should read the comics, then
>>340299913
The DC run is pretty good. Dynamite is extremely hit or miss
