If you can get them cheap, I'd recommend that. It's my favorite gaming mouse. It looks like someone stepped on it, but it's so damn comfortable.

Using the Steel Series Sensei. It's alright. Prefer it to the Mamba I had, the scrollwheel felt shakey in that thing, and it'd sometimes right-click when I left-clicked. I was given it by a friend though, he had it for a couple of months.

>>
>>340284004

Yes, they do. People don't play on the official servers, but there are 2 big private ones. Fish and ICC. Fish is a korean server that has a huge amount of active players. During peak hours it has about 30-40k people playing. Sadly they recently blocked non-koreans by adding a phone verification that only works with korean numbers. Then there's ICC, which has relatively few people online but those who are online usually don't idle and are searching games, so you can find a ranked game in about 30 seconds, you just end up playing the same people pretty often. I'd say the game is pretty fucking alive for being 18 years old.

>>
>>340286565
I play at 1800. I got used to it from work where faster movements actually made me more productive.

If you like moving your arm (not just the wrist) then 800DPI should suit you. If you are a wrist guy like me then 1800 or 2400 would do well.
>>
>>340288062
DPI (dots per inch) is a measurement of how sensitive the sensor is.
Sensitivity is the setting in the game that together with your mouse DPI manage how fast your crosshair moves on screen.

Lol don't listen to any of these shitters telling you logitech or razer.

Logitech used to be good but their quality is shit these days and I hate the logitech mouse I have now. Razer and madcatz is literal garbage don't even think about giving your money to those jews.

Zowie is pretty much the best out there, I'd go with that or any comparable minimalist/high quality build optical mouse.
>>
Any good mice out there with some macro keys on the side? Not a lot, but something I can bind things to when games go full retard with control schemes.
>>
>>340288596
basically any model that uses a 3310 sensor and feels comfortable for you and covers the additions features you want will be perfectly fine - as long as you're using a black cloth mousepad at least because 3310 can be picky. i recommend looking into mionix they're great.
>>
>>340288695
Yes. You use sensitivity to tweak depending on your DPI and preference.
Some games have shitty sensitivity options so it's pretty useful to have a mouse with adjustable DPI.

Haha, funny. I was gone since I've made that post and just when I sat down you replied.

Well, you could still start Brood War, but it would be very rough.

The guides on liquipedia are pretty good.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Main_Page

But building up the muscle memory takes a lot of time and since mostly only vets play it you can expect to have a 5% winrate in your first 250 games or so. I'd suggest giving SC2 a shot instead, it's pretty much just as hard on the top level, but starting is a lot easier and it's not nearly as dead as people say it is.

Logitech m100. Wired optical, scroll wheel and two buttons. Literally all you need from a mouse for 10 bucks.

the dpi/settings button is underneath so its difficult to change but impossible to accidentally hit
there is no software you change all the settings by press the button on the bottom and in combination with other buttons

its the most comfy a mouse has been for me since g500 died, you also get a stupidly large mouse pad with it

Unrelated but incredibly opportune question.

I have the exact same model you shown in the pic that I bought for my gf for Christmas. She of course didn't buy her new phone until last week so I can't return it. I had ordered the blue tooth version but they sent me the wireless version. Do you have the Bluetooth or the wireless version?

Been using a Deathadder for the last 4 or so years it's the only thing made by Razer I would ever suggest using.
The Steel Series Rival 300 is also highly recommended. I've heard good things about the Sensei Raw but can't really comment on it.
Zowie are very highly recommended but are pretty small which is a complaint a lot of people had. Heard that the new FK1 is larger but don't know if it solves people's problems.
Don't know what is going on with Logitech anymore since they stopped making the G400.
Mionix Castor is meant to be good as well.
Sensor used by the mouse is pretty important as long as they don't have acceleration or angle snapping it should be fine.
High DPI is a meme that you shouldn't listen to but being able to swap DPI can be handy as sensitivity settings in some games are absolute trash.

I got a Mamba TE. I used to have a death adder. My death adder was a great mouse, solid contruction, lasted nearly 4 years till the cord started to fray, causing it to cut in and out.

The mamba... not so much, it's still a nice shape but it feels cheaper in the hand despite being nearly twice the price. I had endless trouble with 'liftoff' jitter and shitty tracking until I got a razer brand razer mouse mat. And it still feels weird after nearly 3 months. Fuck this mouse.

It feels like it picks up every grain of dust and jitters the cursor around at all times, despite being at a lower DPI than my old mouse (1600 compared to 1800 on the DAdder).

It's really pretty though.
>>
>>340300908
Yeah... all pics I've found though show it working with android tablets and you can see the dongle sticking out. The only pics of the android phone don't show the USB ports.

You can put anything on it, even gifs, so I'm sure some people put dank memes on the screen.

I think you can also map controls to it like sensitivity and stuff so you can change it "on the fly," so basically it's just a reason to upcharge an extra $40 for their $60 mouse.

I used to like them when I was a teenager. Also the time when I used to love pvp and making a needless competition out of every little thing I did.

Now I'm just not interested in being an edgy teenager, perhaps cuz I'm not one anymore.

I completely agree with you, but I don't think playing online has anything to do with being edgy. More like it has everything to do with playing what's popular so you can hang out with people, which I dislike doing.

800 is good enough, for 1920x1080 at least. The vast majority of games have independent sensitivity settings so just set your mouse to 800 or buy one that is 800 default and find what you like in-game.

2013 edition.
Not sure what all the razer hate is for, I had a steelseries sensei before this and it was pretty great but this thing is better in every way, it shows no wear whatsoever and i've had it for years

Relatively inexpensive for a "gaming" mouse too

Razer hate is because pretty much everything they make is shit and their entire gaymur marketing shit.
Death Adder is the only good thing they have made.

Logitech Proteus Core, I like it and it has been comfy for me. It's not wireless, but I've grown to like that part.

I use the Amazon Basics keyboard and mouse at work and at home. I can't imagine using anything different.

You know that a lot of people play at 800 DPI right? Just because the number is larger doesn't make it better.

Corsair ain't too bad.

Pic related has the best sensor on the market but its ergonomics is a love/hate issue. The first iterations of these came with a rattling sensor (mine included) though it can be easily fixed with some tape. Works flawlessly since then.

i use a Logitech m100, theres no point in buying expensive shit unless you're the type of nigga that falls for the dpi meme

>having to move your mouse a 20 inchesto get it the cursor where you want it
>moving your mouse literally a half an inch to do the same thing
800 dpi is good for very small and accurate cursor placement, but bad for everything else.
