I remember a few years ago, there was this "rumor" about a Star Fox/Metroid crossover that was going to be announced at E3 that gained a lot of momentum here. This is just as stupid.
It doesn't even make sense. Pikmin takes place on a future Earth with no humans, while at the same time you have the Mushroom Kingdom which has some intangible connection with the real world (it's still canon Donkey Kong took place in Brooklyn). Say what you want about stories in Nintendo games, but Pikmin is one of the few franchises that's been pretty consistent in its world-building and narrative.
