I work for a really popular gaming website. We and some other outlets and parties received emails from Valve representatives within the past few days. Friends of mine who work in various other places confirmed this to me today.
Everyone knows that Valve is coming to E3 to showcase the Vive, but in this email they stated that they are also having a private event held in MR502B next Wednesday. There is no indication what this is, just that they don't want anyone talking about it yet. Contrary to their most recent appearances, pretty much every major news source is going to be there so it's definitely something important. I'll report back when I can after the meeting or if anything pops up before then.

OP here. Just want to confirm that this isn't going to be at either of the large Press Conferences for Sony or Microsoft. This is Valve's own thing they're showing. There's only gaming outlets that have been invited, something tells me its going to be big. Probably a Source 2 demonstration.
