Bohemia gave DayZ to the interns and Dean Hall jumped ship.
The good devs they have are off making Arma content, Take on Mars, new IPs, etc.

They don't expect the game to release until late 2017. Some of the stuff looks promising like the new engine but overall DayZ development has been a clusterfuck.

I think so but i think it's pretty barebones. Arma 2 DayZ mod has a lot of custom maps and assets that put standalone to shame.

Patch 0.60 is in experimental right now. I've played it and I hit well over 60 fps. Minor dips in cities rarely now if you don't have a shit PC.
