The fact that its almost open world if you know how to level and get good gear early to survive new areas blows my mind still for a FF game.

FFXII was expected to be the biggest Yasumi Matsuno game to date. Instead, it was just a Final Fantasy, and neither Vagrant Story/FFT/OB/TO fans, nor FF7/8/10 kiddies wanted or enjoyed that.
