No. The amount a memory card, or data storage device in general, can store is a finite number for a reason. When a memory card is 8 gigs, those 8 gigs are always there even when you're not using them. It's just blank space. When the card needs to store something it just writes over the blank space, and similarly when it needs to forget it the card just marks it as blank space until it reaches that section of the card/disc again, then it just overwrites it. It's an abstract kind of thought.

Instead of imagining it as an empty bucket or something that you filled, think of it like a refrigerator door with magnets on it.
