Doom is a fucking outstanding throwback of a first-person shooter, it's an absolute miracle that it exists and I hope it sells well. Just don't expect much from the multiplayer. Fallout 4 is ass, but you can probably find some fun in it. Overwatch is something I'm going to give a while, a multiplayer FPS like that lives or dies by its community and it's too early to tell.

I've played all games for about 80+ hours and this is what I would recommend.
If you have friends to play with that are also willing to get the game, Overwatch. It's a really fucking fun team experience if you have friends to play it the way it was meant to be played, but it's a pretty garbage solo experience. Unless you enjoy playing team based games solo, I'd advise to steer clear otherwise.
If you want a REALLY fucking fun solo experience, DOOM is the way to go. The campaign is goddamn amazing with a surprising amount of replayability. However, the multiplayer is an extreme hit or miss for pretty much everyone. I personally don't find it all that bad, but I probably have around only 10 hours in it compared to the 60 I've spent on the far superior SP.
Avoid Fallout 4 like the plague, it's a mediocre game at best and you'll just feel cheated in the end. Far Harbor is really nothing to run home about, either.

I didn't play timesplitters so i can't make the comparison. Its simple enough and their tutorials in snapmap are detailed enough to get you started.
If you've done any programming at all you'll get into it pretty quickly.
People are right when they say its too limited though. It could use a lot more, especially on modules and the amount of space they give you for objects and memory.
The 12 demon limit is overblown since you can set the pace the player takes on your map just like the actual campaign does and hold them to a room til the demons are dealt with.
If they add to Snapmap then this is seriously game of the year for me.

I bought Overwatch because I wanted to play with a friend. It's an unbalanced clusterfuck and not a very good game, but I still play it because nothing else is populated that my friends are willing to play.
I bought D44M off a key site because my friend who has played Doom since it came out when he was 3 years old recommended it to me after he spent the years leading up to its released shitting on the game (and rightfully so, all the promo stuff made it look like garbage). Other than a shoehorned RPG system and often questionable art direction it's an excellent game and one of the best singleplayer FPS games I've played recently. The multiplayer is pure unadultered garbage that's so bad that its shittiness seeps into the map designer because you have a 2 weapon limit in that since it's based on the shitheap that is the MP mode. Snapmap isn't as cancerous as it seemed like it would be, but it's still not very good and not even remotely a replacement for mod tools.
I pirated Fallout 4. It's one of the worst games I've ever played that isn't complete shovelware a la Superman 64 or Big Rigs (and I'd still rather play the latter because it wastes less of your time and is amusing for a few minutes at least). I could write an essay about everything wrong with that game, but that would require me to play it again as a refresher and I have no intention of ever touching that pile of trash again.

Fallout is shit on many levels, however mods will make is good in time. Currently it's almost ok, but still not worth the price yet.
Overwatch is my biggest remorse. While good, it's not worth the price unless you know for sure that you have friends to play with. I had a few frieds and they got bored very quickly of the game. I rarely play it since with casuals you just lose over and over vs organized teams. Waste of money unless you have friends who fall in love with the game, but even then, I cannot see this appeal over a few weeks.
Now Doom is great just right out of the box. The SP is definitely top notch, and the MP is okayish, unbalaced but with a decent progression system, it's competent without being groundbreaking. Haven't checked the snapmap yet, heard mixed feelings about it.
I'd say the only one worth the money at the moment is Doom.
