There's no way you can tell a huge difference between 1440p and 4K on small screens.

I've got 4k on a 55" tv that I use as a monitor only a few feet from my face. It's pretty fucking sick, it's effectively 4 monitors.
I generally use a 2500x1560ish box in the middle to play my video games with a black boarder on the outside. If I were to use the entire screen I would have to hunt in the corners.
