so why is it that battlefront was shunned for being a high priced multiplayer only game but Overwatch is generally praised and loved for essentially the same thing?
Because Battlefront was an established franchise that EA utterly and completely ruined. They completely ignored the fans of the first games, and didn't just give us Battlefront 3.
Overwatch is a new IP and has no sins behind it.

Because battlefront has two better games than came before it that people were expecting the game to be like and didn't get.

even tf2 was $40 bundled with the orange box though, how is $40 justifiable for such little content?

>comparing two different games
>>340118219
TF2 also went F2P and P2W and is a literal meme game filled to the brim with people that don't actually play the game, Bronies, and both.
>>340118243
>overpriced multiplayer shooters
>>340118243
Both are multiplayer only games that cost $60
>>340118219
$40 dollars doesn't really seem like that much. Don't you have to pay like $100 for battlefront?
Battlefront is mindless deathmatch with no depth.
Overwatch, while casual, is at least more complex than Battlefront.

Overwatch costs $40 bruh.

YOu were supposed to be the chosen one. The game to bring balance to this crippling depression
Battlefront:
>latest in a pre-established series that had single-player content
>has less content than previous sequel from a decade ago
>has DLC out the ass that changes the gameplay
>otherwise is a copy of the previous game
Overwatch:
>new IP
>never was marketed as a game with single-player content
>DLC is cosmetic at most
There's also the bit with Blizzard marketing, but that's a moot point.

tf2 didn't go f2p until 4 years after release
>>340117893
Pretty much everything everybody itt has said. That and Battlefront is pure shit
>>340118431
you can get it for ~$30 now but it launched at $60
Same normie shit. Ignored both.
