I hope this game doesnt outstay its welcome lenght-wise, like muramasa or dragons crown, those got stale far before the end and wanted me to replay them multiple times after. Seriously, like you're playing streets of rage, transition the screen to the same fucking screen with the same fucking enemies. A 30-minute brawler stretched to a 20 hour game is not good design at all.

Already have the game. Can't wait to see Oswald's skill set. So far Cornelius has been pretty awesome. His Tempest destroys mobs and Plasma Circle never fails to stun bosses. Fuck. Why did Gwen suck so hard.

Got the storybook edition on order. Though the changes to gameplay makes me pretty excited the art book is a big plus for me.
So what's this game like? I know it's an ARPG, but is it mostly a boss rush or is there a lot of exploration/platforming/etc, do you need to kill random enemies to level up, is it more about comboing or on dodging, etc.
And how is the new version better than the PS2 version aside from graphics?

I've looked up some gameplay videos and I can try out the gameplay on pcsx2 (unless it's been changed a lot?), but can you tell me if the game is challenging on the hardest mode? I'm looking for something along the lines of Ys on inferno.
