Just played first time as Killer, it's a little harder than it seems or I was just going against someone who was actually good, since after I killed the first two survivors (probably natural selection) none of the remaining ones actually failed a skill check so I couldn't see where they were and they escaped.

Bear traps are underrated though. I got the second guy because he stepped on one while I was hooking his buddy.

Bear traps are the only way to play. If a trapper isn't using them pre-emptively and not just under hooked players, then he's a shit killer.

Both of the other killers will be better than the trapper at actively chasing people.

Toolboxes are fine. The biggest problem I've noticed with the game is the unhook time. Its like one second. Even if you sit there and camp the hooked faggot they can run up and unhook before you can do anything. Shit needs to be extended to like 10 seconds.

Maps are for advanced play. You get all the generators to like 95% and then use the map to beeline to each of them to get the count down from 5 to 0. Throws the killer off hard. It also lets you locate "black locks" but I have no fucking idea what the hell those are.

2 people with a toolbox and every generator is powered by the 3 minute mark. 1 with a toolbox and it will be a normal round except you'll have no hooks.

The mapers get the generators. The medkit fucks with the killer. NEVER use the med kit on someone else. Only yourself. The med kit runs and takes hits and distracts the killer healing himself between runs. The toolbox guy aims for hooks and traps.

Unusual moments of cooperation? I had failed a skill check so I hid in some grass close to the generator(it was in a destroyed building) and managed to see the Killer check all the closets and put a trap close to a drop down board escape thing. Went back to fix the generator and 2 others came with me, heard the killer so vaulted out a window(the only untrapped entrance/exit) and the others didn't question it and did the same. I think some form of a proximity chat would be interesting. You can whisper, but can only be heard a few meters away. If you shout, everyone can hear you, including the killer. The killer would also get a visual indicator for the direction of the shout.

This way they can only really talk to each other beforehand when they're safe, and if a hooked person tries to speak it's pretty much already too late for the guy coming up to leave before the killer is already on him, or just make it so hooked people can't speak at all

So that there's a penalty to talking if the killer is nearby
>Survivors can hear Killer talk within 10-15 meters
to have even more fun with chases and when survivors lose them

You'd also need to force players to adjust their mics properly, so that if it auto-detects that it's set to not broadcast unless they're actually making noise (otherwise a killer will be able to hear someone from the sound of their open mic) or force push to speak

Teachable perks, once unlocked, are not automatically given to everyone.

You have to find it on every characters bloodweb and unlock it.

They have differing rarities as well so some may suck.

If you prestige on the original character that had it others who have it unlocked in the web can keep it, but no one can learn it until the original does again.

So what traits have you noticed in players of specific characters?

For example I've noticed that Jake players always seem to hide in cabinets. And do nothing all round, of course.

There does need to be some balancing done around the hook. Maybe the closer someone is to death, the longer it takes them to pull off? A skill check would be nice too, so if you fail the killer knows what you're doing.

When pulled off, the player should be in the injured state, especially considering they just had a fucking meathook through their shoulder.

Yeah kind of, but it was after he was put down by the killer or something. The survivor had full control but he was just a floating backwards mannequin. If he vaulted windowsills the animation would show him vaulting them from the ground for a second before going back to being a floating butt monster.

Anything that isn't a perk lasts only 1 game. If it's an item like a map/toolbox/flashlight/medkit if you don't use it up and escape with it, you get to keep it. The full game will have the bloodweb resetting forever so you can't run out of items.

Unhooking needs a half-to-full second extension.

Smacking a huge nerf onto it is silly, but survivors shouldn't be able to unhook somebody while the killer is standing two feet away from them.

Play your cards right and you'll get one hooked and the other severely wounded. Hooks aren't there just to kill, they're there to bait. People saving others is good for you.
If the unhooking time was any longer, survivors wouldn't take the risk of running in, and they wouldn't be as effective as bait. It's high-risk/ high-reward for the survivors, low-risk/high-reward for you

Realistically you're only going to be able to lay down one trap unless there happens to be another right beside the hook, and half the time you'll have survivors watching you put the traps down. They can also pull somebody off the hook in the time it takes you to place the trap, even if you cancel out of it unless you were placing it right under the hook.

The killer is already punished for camping a hook, which they have to do anyways. Adding the need to remain in touching distance at all times is not necessary.

It can be mitigated by being careful, and even if they do manage to do it you've got two survivors right next to you, one of which is injured, and you're faster.
The only real issue with it is if you pull the rescuer away during their animation they'll still save the other guy

Now lets pretend for a moment all hooks don't get immediately sabotaged (let alone the ones where you're seen trapping)
You can only chase one asshole at a time, bleeding isn't guaranteed, there's a perk that quiets your whimpering significantly and the track marks stop if you're not sprinting anymore which means run behind a rock and use the normal walk.
The game on release is also going to be heavily swayed in the favor of survivors with their bullshit perks.

Don't feel too bad about not being able to out juke the killer. After playing killer a lot, the only times anyone ever gets away from me is if I haven't already trapped juke locations like the shack, or because the game occasionally makes my mouse lock up.

If the killer has an amount of spacial awareness, no amount of jukes and jives will ever lose them unless you're abusing building windows, or they were already a mile away.

Doesn't matter if one is injured or already on the hook once. Unless you're right on top of them already, which is the whole problem, in the time it takes to chase them and drag them back to the hook, even if they lose a big chunk of bleedout for being hooked again, it usually doesn't translate into taking any less time then if they had just been on the hook the while time.

It doesn't matter how "Careful" you are. If you're not facefucking the hook at all times, a survivor can just run in and waste more of your time having to camp somebody to death.

Ironworks for me at least seems to spawn the damn thing inside the huge ass building with the overhead walkway and managers office. On a side note staying above the killer is a pretty good idea since not that many look up
