do you ever buy a game just because you respect their effort and kinda feel bad its underrated?
No.

I buy a game because it's good and I enjoy it. I don't care what the intentions were.

Fucking Carnivores Fuck yeah

?
oh my gawd, Carnivores was awesome. I loved the first one, I still remember being scared shitless on my first successful T Rex hunt. I had a rifle and saw the rex across a river looking at me. I started to log out and while waiting for the countdown timer took a pot shot at his eye and nailed him with my scoped rifle. I loaded up my trophy room and there he was! I will never forget the feeling of having that T Rex coming at me.

>hunting herbivores
>velociraptor noises
>do the mate call
>t rex responds
>hear footsteps
>cant see him
carnivores is honestly the scariest game i've ever played.
Anyone remember those weird ruins on that one map with the creepy noises?

>run and hide inside the lava temple like a bitch on that one map

I had my dad get me Carnivores II as a kid just because I loved dinosaurs... didn't know shit about the game
Our Windows 98 machine could barely run it which made it hard as fuck to kill dinosaurs... if it was a carnivore I was basically fucked. Is the first one better though?

carnivores 2 is the one you want.
not really but I always feel really bad for the devs whenever I see their kickstarter for an obvious passion project fail
it's literally watching dreams dieI never back anything though, I don't feel THAT bad for them

First one is more strict about target points and there are less weapons (3) to choose. And you can't change the time of day. Still really fun maps though! Very creative places to go and see and try to find a safe spot to call in carnivore dinos.
Personally, I liked the first one more because of the maps. But you sgould try em both out. You can get the games for free online. Takes a little tinkering to get em working on modern machines though

That's like half the reason I got Dragon's Dogma when it came to PC.
I'd already put more than 100 hours into the ps3 version and gotten everything I was going to out of it, so the real framerate and shit were nice but didn't really revitalize the game for me.
But it was a really solid port, at a really reasonable price, of a game I'd love a sequel to eventually.
It deserved a purchase, even if I only did one playthrough and then put it down again.

>Mate call
>T-rex
What does a T-rex mating call sound like?
>hunting Allosaurus
>see one and clime a steep hill that dinos can't run up
>it's running around the base while I take pot shots
>I've got the son of a bitch for sure
>Allosaurus stops moving and turns to me
>fucking leaps on top of me from 20 ft below and begins tearing me apart
