No amount of "git gud" responses will excuse the fact that his dive attack is broken as fuck and will almost ALWAYS hit you in some way, once if you fail to dodge and once if you manage to dodge to the side, with some invisible appendage kicking your shit in.
Not only that, but if you get hit by the dive attack you'll instantly get killed WHILE on your back by some tail sweep that hits in rapid succession after his dive attack.

I had much more trouble with his ground charge attack.
Wear your best quick roll gear. Try to be close to him and evade+hit once. When he tries to stomp you with front feet he'll also try to stomp with his back feet too so watch out for that before you try hitting him. When he flies up to do his fire breath, 3 rolls will suffice to get away most of the time. If you feel you're too far away to try and get in by then, stay back and side roll his method of approach, with quick rolling you'll be able to avoid anything completely with good timing.

I never played the DLC because I got to Artorias on NG+ (didn't know about it until then) and couldn't beat him after 38 tries because my heavy build. Is it worth playing?

Quick roll really helps but technically you should still be good with medium roll. Learn the patterns, hit&run as best as you can and he'll drop after awhile.

If you can medium roll with full Havel armor then you can quick roll with giant armor, go get it, level it up and you're set. If I'm wrong though well, just wear the father mask with giant armor for the "giant dad" meme set and you're still good.

With some moves in Souls games, the direction that you dodge in is important. Also, sprinting is more effective that dodge rolling for a very small minority of attacks. Every time you complain that a boss has bullshit attacks, remember that somebody has done god knows how many NG+'s at SL1.

He's not that hard on NG, senpai. He's way harder in NG+ because he 1~2 hits you. The dive attack is so easy to dodge. Just be running most of the time you aren't being attacked. Don't stand still. If you constantly circle him and wait for a chance to strike, you'll never be hit by the charge attack. Also even with any shield, a well timed tap block will nullify most attacks, and even better, you can roll into any attack to dodge it with iframes, though tapping block when needed is better, and you can roll into any follow-up attacks if you haven't recovered your stamina from the first one.

That's a good ring. If you wear it and gain around ~300k souls total while having it equipped, it basically turns into a much stronger version of Havel's ring + gives bonus stamina regen.

It's not that hard. You want to stay at mid range and bait his flying dive, have him land just a bit further than you are, where his tail is around where you are. He'll do a tail slam and that's your best chance at cutting it off. There's other opportunities but this is the most reliable one.
The important thing to know is you have to be cutting near the tip. Otherwise it wont count as cutting his tail.
Kalamoot isn't that bad.
Dodge the dive attack by rolling towards him and to the side, not just to the side. Always diagonal. You'll get it down quickly enough. Then run near his tail and try to bait the slam. Fug his tail. Victory.

When I tried it the first time, I just kept blocking with a tower shield and waiting until he got on his hind legs and breathed down in an area in front of him, since this usually gives you one hit if you manage to run behind him fast enough.
Take note that the getting-on-hind-legs is the same telegraph for when he does his gravity-levitation bullshit move, so be ready to either roll back or forward.

Got this shit on pc so I fucking wouldn't have to. The camera is so so so so so so bad and shitty. It sharply wobbles around and switches enemies constantly. The attacks are unresponsive as fuck. They take seconds to register and actually follow through. Same with the shitty as shield. After getting use to the fact it takes about 4 seconds for even a "fast" attack to finish after clicking and trying not to budge the mouse even less than a 1mm so it will stay locked on to the right enemy AND getting use to the god awful control layout the game is still complete shit. Everything is sluggish and there is no reason for it either.
I can play shitty, cumbersome games because the developers knew their game was shit and built around that fact. Like arma and Dayz. Shit controls, shit menus, and everything takes for fucking ever to follow through but you don't need any sort of timing for anything. DS is absolutely worthless because it has these sluggish controls, shit menus, and still expects it's players to dodge and time.
I'm sure I could "git gud" by why even bother? There are literally hundreds of better games with better combat and better controls to play. Why spend all this time getting use to a game that's not rewarding in any way and absolute shit.

I played the games on keyboard and mouse, and my PvP winrate is like 95%. Faith buffing Strength greatsword darkmoon. No force shit, no magic shennanigans, no cheesing. I fought this guy for 20 minutes trying to get his tail, because I'm fucking bad and was using the SK spear, and then beat him in 3 more after his tail was off without any issue.
You're actually just not that good at the game. The boss has like 6 attacks that you can easily and safely memorizing and then you should be able to shield/dodge all of them without issue. If you get your punk ass caught in his telekenesis you just defend and run until it runs out. It's literally the easiest fight in the DLC, by miles.
