Fullscreen and windowed modes function differently. Fullscreen absorbs your display while windowed is unassuming. This makes alt-tabbing faster and keeps the game running in the background. Preference.

I hope you realize that not every AA implementation is a multi-sampling solution and as such having a multiplier does not make any sense. FXAA is either on or off, there is no "2x FXAA".

According to https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/PostProcessEffects/AntiAliasing/ UE4 practically only does FXAA. And there is no reason it should do anything else since it is the best AA solution.

Pretty much every non-postprocess AA method is a variation o oversampling. Literally every non-postprocess AA method improves image quality.

Every postprocess effect is there to present the illusion of good lighting engine while being relatively cheap on hardware it was optimized on. Perfect example is Battlefield 3. Only honorable exemption would be bump mapping and normal mapping in general, because it doesn't obstruct vision and genuinely works.
