Am I the only one who thinks that the monochromatic interface in Fallout 3 and beyond trades convenience for theme? I'm playing Fallout 1 now and even though the item screens have very limited space to display items, I still find it better to use because it's not just a list of green words. In Fallout 1 and 2, you don't need to read every line to find something, because you know what it looks like, and your visual perception can quickly and easily pinpoint what you're looking for. In Fallout 3 and after you just have a list of words, and it's not as convenient as thumbnails. I think it even makes the items feel less tangible and more like just data points in a literal inventory catalog.

A lever action can function fine with a side ejection port. In fact, a side-facing port is the best, as (assuming you're using a right-handed rifle if you're right handed, and a left-handed rifle if vice versa) you're throwing brass the farthest way away from your face or hat brim.

Damn who else here actually liked the holograms and collars? At first I was kind of annoyed but eventually I liked how they forced you to not just rush through everything, but to take your time and work out little micropuzzles.
I mean, some locations of the speakers were absolutely bullshit and irredeemably annoying but overall I'm glad they were a gameplay mechanic.
