Okay, many films were made before television displays. Plenty were made in the days of vhs and dvd. Should i only watch from russia with love in cinema, burn my goldeneye blu ray and stick to the vhs? Games made at 480p are done so for technical limitations of the time, it's not an artistic choice, resolution is just pixel count, doesn't have anything to do with artistic style. Pcsx2 hacks interanl resolution as well so it is rendered as such. Furthermore a 480p image stretched to a 1080p screen looks shit because you are stretching the same rendered pixel to four physical pixels, realistically further from the orignal than a 1080p render, you never did amswer though. Do you only watch VHS movies. I think you have resolution confused with say textures or something of that nature there is no real reason to be a purist here.

I don't think you understand. Dive 480 into 720, then divide 1920 by 1080. These are aspect ratios. Original hardware can only decrease the resolution to meet the aspect ratio, making it worse, or letter box which is the same but fucks with stretching it to your TV. With movies this is hardly a problem since its letterbox anyway. But videogames are not meant to be.
