Salt and Sanctuary is... basically 2D Dark Souls, but it has a really shitty set of keybinds even for a Controller and you gotta remap them to even consider playing it properly.

I played with a controller and I gotta agree it's kinda weird in the beginning, if you're used to Dark Souls controls.
Still, I got into it pretty fast and it was ok, also, as you said, you can rebind the keys to make it more similiar to DS.
