Most of the best PS2 games are available in 1080p/60fps through HD remasters. It isn't really worth buying a PS2 for the few games that haven't been re-released yet.

It's true though, there's no reason to buy Jak, Ratchet, Sly, God of War, Devil May Cry, Ico, SotC, Okami, Dark Cloud, etc. on PS2 anymore since the HD versions look and play better.
The only games the PS2 is really worth anymore are the SMT series, Onimusha, and obscure shit like the Maximo games.
