Battleborne. Two million beta players, and it's sold more copies than Borderlands.
The Witcher 3 actually exceeded it. My most hyped game around that time was MGS5. I thought I'd just blow through TW3's main story and never touch it again, while MGS5 would be the masterpiece I would play and replay for an eternity. The roles were completely reversed. TW3 exceeded expectations and MGS5 came short of them. TW3 also has expansion packs, the latest of which I'm playing now. MGS5 was unfinished and offers nothing but microtransactions for a mediocre online mode.

Overworld game takes a lot from Attila. It is basically Attila minus the sanitation bullshit. Basically everything that happens in the overworld is preparation for fighting wars.
Hammer & Anvil still works but has been nerfed due to how fast the battle goes now. I installed a mod that slowed now the combat.

Level design, bosses, combat and pure awesome gameplay instead of todays cookie cutter "cutscenes, cutscenes and more cutscenes". It really is one of the best games i've played, wish it was on PC so I could run it at 60fps but ah well, shit happens.

As someone who plays that piece of shit since the beta I can say you're right. If it has more than 3 missions and raid it's a decent expansion already as far as Destiny goes. TTK managed to keep the game alive on it's own until the april update.
