I just finished up like all the side quests (notice board ones) and did the Tourney and the Vineyard, but I barely started the main quest (just found out it's vampires and a friendly vamp appears).
Also got all Mastercraft gear.

Not really, she was getting impatient because she was getting no results and her long lost sister was now the one being accused of causing all the issues that were plaguing Touisannt. She was angry with reason but vented it unfairly on Geralt ultimately coming back around to being reasonable once she'd cooled off.
That's one of the reasons the characters in The Witcher are so much more interesting than most games. They aren't one note.

I don't know if it's just something on my end, but it's driving me nuts how the most recent patch seems to have broken the music in a lot of places in the game. Like area in Kaer Trolde no longer plays the unique track it used to pre-patch. Detlaff had promise, and I found him intriguing to begin with but he ultimately doesn't get enough screen time, and I was hoping there would be drawn more parallels between him and Geralt.

Loot all the swords and armors and only sell them to the journeyman crafters in Oxenfurt and Novigrad. That's it, they pay way more than other merchants do. It's gotten to the point where opening their inventories takes a while because of all the shit they have but it's worth it.
When you get to Skellige you get access to craftsmen who pay even more but that's obviously later in the game.

I said I did. Aerondight is outclassed by basically any sword post 45 because they within 20pts of damage of it, have armor piercing, and a bunch of other goodies.
Aerondight literally only has the crit chance mechanic that is only functional when you don't get touched at all which is basically impossible without Quen up 100% of the time because shit like kikkimores, archespores, and giant centipedes will probably hit you even if you're attacking them.
It would be useful if it stayed at 100% crit chance once it was maxed out, and I concede that it is the only useful sword once you get to like, level 60 in NG because you stop getting better weapons.
No real reason not to keep it maxed out at 100% crit once you level it. I was getting 80+ crit chance from even non witcher gear swords at level 45.

I really wanted to like the Witcher series. I love this fantasy setting and think Geralt is a badass.
However the gameplay is just shitty. Like, really shitty. For all of /v/'s bravado about how they prefer games over interactive novels, thats all Witcher is praised for: it may have more gameplay than say, the Walking Dead, but its pretty shitty gameplay.
Witcher is praised for many qualities. Its qualities as an actual game is not one of them.
