It is a little too quick. If you get a hook with a team mate around 10 feet away by the time the killer takes a step back and puts a bear trap down you can have the person off the hook, and maybe even fool the killer because his fov means they didnt see shit.

unhooking usually isn't an issue because it's ridiculously easy to track them or the rescuer and when you rehook them it's either an instant kill or they have barely any bleedout time left.

The only real issues i have with the game balance wise is how the Hatch functions and pretty much everything about the toolbox.

Flashlight needs to be reworked to be useful as well.

Honestly, it'd be very easy to do some basic model swaps and still have every level play very differently. Instead of generators, have lockers/safes with keys inside, 20 lockers but only 7-8 of them have keys inside, with 5 required to exit the level. It's the same basic concept, but there are more things to find and they open twice as quickly as generators take to power on.

If starbreeze weren't DLC jews, and focused on opening up community map support with modifiable win conditions and even multiple "stages" to the same map with exit doors that lead to a new area, this game would probably last for years, and I'd be fucking happy to pay for the occasional new killer or survivor with a different look.

Supposed to be several ways to get off the island and hiding until the end is a valid strat.

One way was collecting boat parts to repair the boat. Jason actually kills you there on the ground, or smashes your head in a door or window. Tons of different ways to die.

Some good info on their kickstarter. I bet something is going to be fucked up though, like the map will be the same and nothing will be randomly placed.

I really don't understand why this is a selling point. As the killer, it'll almost certainly be "move to X area to watch Y action". After you've seen them all once, there's nothing much left.

Insta-kills in a game like this clearly don't work. The whole point of having it be a 1v4 or 1v7 or whatever is that injured people can be helped by their friends.

That Last Year game is even more clueless, if it ever comes out people are just going to roam around hunting the hunter who can't do shit against 5 people with weapons attacking him from multiple angles.

Let's assume they went for the same system as this, where you need 2-3 hits to actually down someone ready for murder, and you can carry people to special areas for a cutscene kill.

If the killer senses any obstacles on his way to the nearest sick kill area, he'll just drop and stab the player to death on the ground, getting less xp or whatever but avoiding the possibility of a survivor somehow rescuing his prey.

That's not fun for the victim, and it's not fun for the killer. The whole sacrificing system in this game is fucking genius, because it gets around that whole problem, because survivors get another chance, and the killer gets bait.

More importantly, there's nothing cool about dragging a guy over to a "sick kill" area and finishing him after he's done. Smashing someone's head on a door is fun because they happened to be there by the door. Beating someone to a pulp and then needing (or being led into) taking him over to a door for a cinematic finisher isn't very cool.

Probably Hillbilly as the most played since hes the most straightforward, though I'd think Trapper and Wraith are going to be better overall with Trapper having the easier time sacrificing while Wraith will be better at getting the jump on people.

The hillbillies chainsaw is a charge with an extremely low degree of sidewards movement in a game where Survivors are non-stop juking, circling or duck behind things.

Honestly I imagine the Trapper is going to be the best, especially once you get decent equipment for his bear traps, such as the ones that instantly put survivors into a downed state.

I don't even know the point of turning invisible as the Wraith unless it turns off the impending doom audio cue, which seems far too strong.

Wraith is the best. The fact he can move without setting off heartbeats, and move faster than everyone else, is crushing. The time it takes him to become visible sucks, but given he's silent and can find people working on generators, he'll actually start most chases closer than the other 2 characters, and be able to get into more chases faster.

The hillbilly will be the least played, because his ability is only good for chasing complete idiots who run completely straight, or getting a quick boost of speed.

The real issue will be perks. If everyone is running premonition as survivor, the wraith might actually not end up being too great, although the cooldown might make it not matter.

delete your profile cache, its a local file

1) Right click on your Dead by Daylight shortcut and go to properties (make one if you haven't) You will see a link that looks something like this: steam://rungameid/471230 /admin

2) Do a search on your computer for 471230 (or whatever number you had in your shortcut)

3) Your search should find a folder with the same number in your Steam folder, looking something similiar to this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\something\471230

4) Open that folder, then click/browse through the following folders: remote-->out-->profiles

5) You will see a file called remote and remotechache. Delete them, and you're done!

If you want to reset your bloodweb to have a shot at getting different perks / items, you can delete your profile cache.

I think their procedural generation isn't good enough for stuff like that. Which is a shame, building levels with multiple floors would be great, although you might run into the problem of hearing the heartbeat through the floor or roof.

While I really like their procedural system for generating those brick ruins that act like mazes, I think it's inferior to just a general map layout for everything else.

I feel like they would have been better off building map making software and maybe only shipping with 2 maps, because all you really need are 10-12 quadrants with acceptable generator and hatch locations for each map of the same size, and then the engine can randomly put them together for you.

At the moment the maps generally play the same anyway. Even with a set map, you can mix things up very easily. Generator spawn locations can be a random spread. You could have a number of building types and switch around their positions every game.

Other survivors can hear when someone is reading a map through that weird 'map reading' noise, although it has no direction.

The add-ons for it can significantly boost the range that it will highlight generators for you.

This game is fucking broken. The ranking system needs a SERIOUS rethink for killer, it's far too easy for survivors to just quit out and deny me the 12-15k points I need for a rank up.

I absolutely should not ever rank down on a complete victory, no matter my score. I wouldn't mind the score system if I just remained at the same level if people quit on me or I don't make the required number of points.

Just went to town on a group of level 1s. I feel kinda bad.
None of them had any style and even had the gall to keep working on a generator while I was walking up to them.

I thought Evolve was fun when I played the beta, I didn't buy the game because of their bad business practices and push for E-Sports bullshit. Evolve was simply not worth whatever triple digit pricetag they had on it in addition to locking ingame content behind paid DLC. If it was $18 and all the in game content was free, I would have got it and I bet others would have too

This game plays much differently, isn't focused on esports, content isn't behind an additional paywall, and is $18.

I really hope people don't brand any and all 4v1 games as "Evolve-like" just because they have that one thing in common. That's like reverting to when every first person game was a "Doom clone" even if it wasn't a shooter.

I'll say this, for the current content set and price I think it's worth it. The comparison to Evolve is unfair since that sold for $60 and had paid DLC on day 1 that was not just cosmetic. In addition to that Dead by Dawn is using the Payday model where only the host will need to own the DLC, that's not a free pass for them but it's a much different launch as well as a different DLC model than Evolve had.

If this gets any free content updates outside of just fixes I'd be content, nobody felt content with Evolve even on launch day.
