You're mistaking people who use Unity with people who actually wanna make something worthwhile. Majority of the people who use Unity do it because they can just buy a pack of shit and then release it on steam in a totally broken format for easy money not because they actually wanna make a video game they think would be enjoyable.

Unity only gets a bad rap because people who don't know what shaders even are flock to it because it's free and easy. The engine doesn't have any serious limitations compared to other engines.

There aren't that many good games made with Unity. Some of these are debatable but the best of the bunch I can remember from the last list I drew up, and some of them I wonder why they even bothered with Unity.

They have almost no good networked multiplayer games either. Most Unity games are half-finished prototype cash grabs. This happens with all the engines but with most alarming frequency from Unity.
