They were supposed to be a mercenary group, only nobody ever bothered to wonder if maybe mercenaries might not shoot literally everything in sight.
In practice, they are literally raiders with slightly better equipment.
You know, I kind of enjoy the game because I'm really easily entertained, but it still leaves me cold. Just bits here and there that bug me.
Are there any games that do something similar to modern fallout but better? Apart from STALKER of course.

141 hours in, and literally the only interesting part of the game writing-wise is Piper.
A goddamn Companion, in a game where you can't even interact with companions outside of scripted checks and asking "what's our relationship like", is the most interesting part of the game.
Bethesda really dropped all pretense to have any meaningful story in her games didn't she.
