Latest screenshot.

Do you still hate the art style?
>>
no, because I play civ for the comfy gameplay, not realistic graphics.
>>
>>339994014
I didn't hate it before but the border between those tile types looks awful
>>
>>339994014
i really love it. i've never seen/played a facebook or mobile game so maybe that's why i'm not making that mental comparison

I appreciate the tapestry-esque fog of war, but yeah
>>339994192
Civ is a sim, just do that well.
>>
I really like it. The cartoony look is unoffensive and visually appealing. But I'm worried the game mechanics will be bare bones and faulty compared to full expansion version of Civ V. And Beyond Earth really burned my goodwill toward Firaxis so I will take a cautious wait and see approach.
>>
What is this brown map bullshit. Can the game not render the entire board properly anymore?
>>
>>339994452
You've never even SEEN one? You've never seen 5 seconds of a commercial in a public place?
>>
Looks like someone spilled coffee all over the map
>>
>>339994715
thats called the fog of war, dude.
>>
>>339994708
>But I'm worried the game mechanics will be bare bones and faulty compared to full expansion version of Civ V.

Devs say VI will supposedly ship with features practically on par with V.
>>
>>339994775
It looks like shit
>>
>still not CiVIlization
>>
>>339994014
I thought it'd grow on me but no, I think it's pretty ugly. Doesn't mean I'll refuse to play it or anything but I'm not going to pretend it looks good.
>>
>>339994014
Maybe its just me but trying to focus on those city borders fucks with my eyes. maybe its just the colour
>>
I fucking love all the salty Civ V babbies tears

Coming from a REAL civ fan this actually looks leagues better than the shit that was five
>>
Should I play Civ 4? Is it necessary to have all the expansions to enjoy it?
>>
>>339995715
A real Civ fan would have hated V and double hated this since its nothing like 3 or 4.
>>
>>339998559
True and I do

But its a step away from five and that's something at least. Not a big enough step and nowhere near the peak of Civ 4 though

I just want my giant death robots to look like gundams.
>>
Civ 4 was fantastic except for the way siege units worked. Not at all a fan of having to suicide them for them to do damage.

Anyone know of any mods that make them behave like the should, aka like in Civ 3 or 5?
>>
>>339994956
you look like shit.

So /v/

did you preorder yet?
>>
>>339999407
>Preordering
uh never.
>>
>>339999372
Anytime I read these Civ threads there's always someone saying bring back doomstacks. Why do you hate the way Civ V handles combat?
>>
>>339994014
Definitely looks better than Beyond Earth.
>>
>>339994726
In a what now?
>>
>>339999407
At first announcement
>>
I like that they are trying to make it readable

I could never tell the different land types apart before
>>
So will firaxis fix graphics or will we need a gem ?
>>
>>339999407
>pre-ordering digital
For what purpose?
>>
>>339999080
Hexagon tiles >>>>> square tiles
>>
It looks fine when it isn't zoomed in like crazy
>>
>>339994014
I like how city borders seem to be bigger now prob. because you'll be building districts. Civ 5 tended to be really cramped.

Hopefully we won't have to build a city next to water to be able to build naval units this time.

Hex tiles are the definition of casualizing
