is it just me or are games actually, not nostalgia, getting worse?
I mean they are fun, but they aren't capturing me like they used to. I remember when a new game would come out and I would be in awe, and many games I would play for years. Is this just what getting older is like? I used to be fine spending all day on games buy now I look out the window at night and my mind wanders to what's going on in the world and the fun people are having together. I haven't really spoken to anyone in 5 years and I used to have really good friends

I agree, /v/ seems more worried about gamergate and SJW shit which I don't think is as big of a deal as people here say it is but companies are playing it way too safe and no innovation is happening. I used to be a huge nintendo fanboy and could now give two shits what they did. Gen 6 felt like the last time games were high quality and companies weren't afraid of a possibly risky idea.

I've never actually paid for a single DS or 3DS game even though they're my favorite handhelds and I've bought two or more of each system.
I've played each Far Cry game more than once (besides Primal and the shitty XBox bastardisations of the first one) and would call it one of my favorite series overall.
I always despised split screen multiplayer, back in high school when my friend invited us to his house to play Halo I'd only suffer though it so I could fuck his brother.
I hate Half-Life series, especially the first one because it was overhyped and it stole all the glory from Unreal, which came in the same year but is simply better in virtually everything, and its story fucking sucks, Strife came out two years prior and it has better writing, premise and plot, also Marathon. I still like it but it definitely doesn't deserve all of the praise that it got.
Dota 2 addict here, I'm decently forgiving but rude as hell if you start feeding OR if you sound annoying on mic bitching about shit. I'm all for a good comeback game but if I don't see it happening I'll sit in base and encourage the enemy to push because I hate stalling lost games.

I know it sounds really elitist but I feel the audiance of games growing in the 6th gen changed gaming more then anything. Games now have budgets that match, hell sometimes exceed movies and they realize if they do something risky it might blow up it in their face. Companies want their profit back even if it means a product just like the last.
