No. FFVII Remake, Last Guardian and Shenmue 3 were all ideas people assumed were dead and had written off as never happening.
For whatever reason, Sony decided that pleasing the core games audience is the route to success. I'm not sure if that's the reason they're succeeding but I'm not complaining.

E3 is all about shilling and fanboyism, Sony were just giving everybody what they wanted to see. Regardless of how these games are progressing now, in the moment Sony had completely enraptured the crowd and destroyed every other show last year.
With that said, average compared to bullshit will always look amazing. You're right about the actual result of those announcements being mush less exciting than they would have seemed among other proper announcements, but everybody else (especially Nintendo) shit the bed so hard they propelled Sony into the stratosphere by comparison alone.
Personally, I've never wanted an FF7 remake and I never liked the Shenmue series, so I find that these announcements weren't the universal slam dunks others have claimed.

I've already seen the video, he was disappointment with starfox due to miyamoto's stubbornness with the controls and it did nothing with its characters despite them trying. Sony wasn't even brought up in it.

Open your eyes fella, everybody buys the shit out of remakes even when they still own the games. FF7 is probably the most requested remake ever, every man and his dog has wanted it for a long time.
As for Shenmue, Yoshida's Island himself said "It's indie development which is why he chose Kickstarter to seek funding". I've seen less excitement about the game itself and more about how successful Kickstarter has been.
