Dead Rising had charm to it. The characters were awesome, the game actually had a spooky atmosphere going with it along with an interesting conspiracy and it had some B movie moments without it being forced for meme sake.
DR2 was okay but it tried way to hard to be funny and retain its horror at the same time and DR3 was just trash.

Dead Rising 2 was alright but it was at large a lot worse and less fun than the first Dead Rising.
And Dead Rising 3 basically took everything Dead Rising 2 did and went even further with it. And the result was an even worse game.
I don't have much hope for Dead Rising 4.
But please move more towards the lighthearted cartoony side that the first game ran with. Dropping that was really the worst thing Dead Rising 3 did wrong.

I played Dead Rising 3 recently and it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm a sucker for open world collect-a-thon shit but I still felt pressured to complete things on time even though it was a lot more liberal with the timer and the saving compared to 1 and 2 so it was kinda stupid for them to even include collect-a-thon type stuff. Nick was certainly the weakest of the protagonists and the story was all over the place considering it took itself way more seriously than the first two games but still had shit like Nick building a flamethrower arm for a lady. As part of the main story.
Dead Rising's appeal is in its charm and 3 being set in a ruined city made it so it barely had charm at all. It should have been in a Disney World-esque theme park or something. I don't know. The gameplay was fine, the bosses were okay, but the environment was a letdown which is the entire reason I avoided the game in the first place

Finally /v/ shows some love (or at least attention) to one of my favorite vidya series.
I'm so fucking hyped to see what they show about it on E3, this game supposedly has 4 Player multiplayer with Frank, Chuck, Nick and Katey, I hope they can bring some of the magic of the first and second game, maybe revisiting willamette? They never said the town was nuked or anything, maybe the game is set near?
My favorite part about dead rising is its customization. For example in DR1, you could be Frank the reporter and take your pictures and shit. Then NG+ you could be AGENT F.R.A.N.K runing around in your spec ops uniform guning down zombies and survivors. Mister death himself. You could say fuck the story and just cruise.
It was my biggest problem with DR2, fucking Katie and her bullshit zombrex. Thats why Off the Record was kickass. Dead Rising 3 was also very fun and when it come out I know people had huge problems with performance but strangely enough it worked perfectly on my machine thankfully.
The DLC for 3 was also pretty good especially the Special Ops one, made me feel really bad for killing the Specops commander in the main game. In fact id consider Dead Rising 3 the best Resident Evil game iv played in recent memory considering how shit RE6 was.

I also like how in dead rising there is a cure for the zombie shit but it's expensive and not really permanent yet. They really need to stick to "smaller outbreaks that are contained". The only hope for Dead Rising 4 is bringing back Frank West. Off the Record was able to fix most of Dead Rising 2's issues and the use of Frank brought back the nice mix of serious and snark that persists until you get to the off the wall ending.
It can even be used to keep up a Zombrex-like mechanic even if they say that there's still a cure for zombies from Nick. Frank would probably be around 60 in a Dead Rising 4 game, so maybe it could be said that he needs to start finding more prescription medicine, or that his life has traumatized him so much that he needs to find adult diapers every 24 hours.Either that or Old Frank is a mentor character and on the other end of the transmitter

It's good but it has flaws. The main one being they give you cool vehicles and motorcycles with blades but the bad being there's obstacles everywhere. Vehicles are good for moving to area to area but then you hit an obstacle and you're on foot
Other than that it's a solid game. I had a lot of fun doing the missions. If I were you I'd keep an eye out on dr4 and the scorpio. You'd be getting dr3 as well that prob runs a lot better.

SF V bombed and sold less than Dead Rising 3 did in it's first week and the best selling Capcom third party exclusive of the gen is still on the Wii U. Either way, it's a risk whatever platform you go with. 5 million buying your game on a platform owned by 12 million is still better than selling only 1.4 million on a platform with 40 million users. Third parties don't charge for exclusives based on ownership stats and say "You have to pay more if you have less customers". Hell, if anything they charge even more because they know you will pay out the ass. Happened all the time in 6th gen where Nintendo and MS were getting exclusives because companies didn't want to be swamped by competition consoles.
The COD Map and advertising deal was reportedly taken to nine figure sums by Sony after they outbid MS for the renewal. That's how retarded it gets at the end of the day.
