Looking to upgrade my GPU
>I fell for the Radeon HD 6950 Memei5 2500k
HD 6950
8GB RAM
Just fucking with you. It's been running great since 2011, and while playingOverwatch, it started to show signs of age. I get 20-30 fps on ultra. I can't really play too many games on ultra now anyway, so i usually stick with medium-high. I don't even mind playing on low settings, but It's been a while since I upgraded my computer.
I have never overclocked my 6950 and I'm wondering if I should just do that instead of buying a new card. Should I overclock or just bite the bullet and buy that new AMD card (pic related)Buying Nvidia is not an option. I can afford their high end cards, but every Nvidia card I or a family member has owned has literally caught fire

OC it or get a RX 480.
No reason to not OC, if you're already on the verge of upgrading. At worse it can't handle the OC and you just set it back and buy a new card.

>prebuilt dell from 2006 gpu caught fire
>brother bought whatever nvidia card was out back in 2011, same time i bought my 6950, his card caught fire
>friend asked me to build computer for him, gave him list of parts, chose nvidia over amd gpu, videocard was DOA twicenever buy from newegg, they make you pay for return shipping
>mom gets prebuilt in 2012, nvidia card, catches fire, smokes, power supply melts
>AMD shill
no i just don't feel like spending $100000000000 on a brand that i've had trouble with in the past many times before.
i just want to know if i should just overclock or buy the new meme card from amd.

i do love apu. my old shitty prebuilt came with an apu and it let me play games all the way up until now. and now i have an i5 but i have an r9 380x

funny that 480 is not a flagship, jsut for now but the series' flagships will be 490/490X. We'll see then, now it's not use comparing, not ruse intended

You don't play a lot of modern games if Overwatch is the first one that "started to show signs of age" of your GPU
>socket 1366
>i7 950
>6GB Ram
>HD 6870
>Overwatch silky smooth 55 fps onlow/medium
Wat 2 do ?
