I still don't get how companies can issue a C&D on mods. If you're making something that's meant to be free how are you getting in trouble for it? You never see Warner Bros knocking down doors to stop fan made Batman films.

Like I said, they're making people want a star wars battlefront game, everyone will let themselves want it because it isn't that awful piece of shit. Once that desire is built they can just remove your best avenue of sating it leaving you with few options, old BF2, or the EA shitpile.
Just think, what do they gain by allowing this to continue? Not a lot/nothing at all.
