And that's exactly why it's successful, third party support. Make your game run on three systems or make your game run on one? Nintendo is always going to lose if they keep making systems with weak ass hardware.

That's not such a bad thing, considering it lets people across generations continue to play with each other. On my own the only Mario games I played are SMB3 and SM64, but I can still easily pick up any new title that younger family members are playing and have fun with them for a while.
I'd understand how that'd be frustrating if you're really invested in Mario over the years, but from an 'adult hanging around family' perspective, it's nice that the games don't change much.

Completing all the angel killing missions in Bayo 1 in infinite climax can take a lot of hours, not to mention you can replay the game experimenting with different weapon/accessory combinations, and also Jeanne and Zero playtrhoughs.
On top of all that, getting Pure Platinum awards in every level/mission.
I haven't played Bayonetta 2 yet, but it having online co-op warrants even more hours of gameplay.

The reason why nintendo is complete trash right now is because they refuse to rehash their games. Everyone wants a new Mario 64 rehash, we get two completely 3D style mario games. Everyone wants a new Paper Mario RPG game, we get something that is completely different. Metroid federation force is self explanatory. Animal Crossing game for the Wii U?
