with mercy it's either heal or damage boost or blaster.
lucio can heal and shoot at the same time, also he heals your entire team and not just a single person. with his e he can still top people pretty fast (rate is about the same as mercy's heal) and again, it's AOE.
and the knockback is just a guaranteed kill on some maps.

lately I've been playing games as Mercy where people aren't dying as much and I can't use my ult very often. I try to save for 2+ res but most of the time now it's just one guy dying at a time
I play a lot of Mercy and I will tell my team to do their jobs if they suck at it.
Why? Because I'm better than them at DPS roles, I'm playing support because they refuse to play anything outside of their mains and only pick DPS/Defense classes every single game. I've been playing the closed beta for 4-5 months prior to release and have 2-3,000 more rounds played than they do, I know what needs to be done and if something isn't happening I'm going to speak up.
I have no patience for people who can't kill a turret, won't stand behind Rein and fire their guns, or ignore the Tracer that's spawncamping me.

That's not really true. Zarya's bubble pokes out in front of Rein's barrier, so if they're shooting anywhere near the middle of the rectangle you'll get charge anyway. On top of that when Rein decides to break stance and charge the bubble prevents him from being stunned and keeps him alive long enough to close the distance - and he ALWAYS gets shot at so you'll always get the energy out of it.
There's a reason why in competitive play Reinhardt/Zarya is run on basically every offensive round. It's gooooooooood.

Being a healer really gives you a good view of how stupid people can be. I had someone rage at me in chat once because I didn't heal them. They decided to Rambo into the fucking entire enemy team, while I was busy keeping the rest of our group alive. Same thing with rezzing. I had my ult, someone got mad that I didn't get them up, when they were -literally- a five second walk away from spawn, because we were holding the point.
I'm not wasting my ult on reviving one person, unless it's INCREDIBLY APPARENT that they would make a difference.
Assassin type character shouldn't be asking for heals anyway. They should be using the healthpacks. If they really need a big heal, then they should be the one going back to Mercy.
