But he's right. There's literally no way a 2D game can require more skill than a 3D game, regardless of genre. Limiting your movement to a 2D plane removes a level of skill, and making the game viewed from the side so you have full awareness of what's around you really makes the idea of skill kind of a joke. First-person is basically the most difficult way to play a game because it involves 3D movement as well as situational awareness and spatial awareness that third-person games lack.

Dead wrong. Skill requirements for games isn't some kind of arbitrary checklist but the effort involved on the player's behalf. Overwatch doesn't take much skill. In terms of skill floor and ceiling, overwatch is manlet tears' house. Most 2d fighting games are easily 100 times harder than overwatch.
