So this is a good thread for this.
I'm extremely lonely quite often but have been able to rationalise it as a constant. It makes it surprisingly quite bearable. The real issue I have is that I used to have long bouts of arguing with myself out loud while i'd pace. Sometimes i'd shout and irritate neighbors or passerby on the street. I suppose that makes it crazier than it is, but the reality is that I don't believe there's another person i'm speaking to. I haven't played Space Engine in ages but I remember the last thing I did was fly out to the last galaxy I could find on the very edge of the visible universe then I found the furthest out star in that galaxy and then the loneliest, dead planet in that solar system and looked out into the void, that fucked me up.

Just go play any MMO and notice that everyone has a friend except you. Then you keep doing those boring sidequests by yourself even though you're not sure why keep trying because you know you're not going far without friends and the whole thing is pointless and you're not really having any fun, but at least it distracts you from being alone with your thoughts.

I think a few more collectables would have been nice. Not something ridiculous like floating, glowing abstract symbols in easy to see, but out of reach areas, like what a lot of other games have. It would have been nice if there were hieroglyphs that could be found around that world that would tell cryptic stories of the past when activated or even just some items that would allow some trivial interactions with the game world (like an old telescope or something).
