It went from a pretty terrible letdown to decent, and the last few seasons have made the game incrementally better. However, the seasons are feeling very samey now with little distinction between seasonal and nonseasonal play (no more seasonal character specific legendaries, for example) and a change is due. Either Diablo 4 or a new expansion needs to be announced at Blizzcon for me to really get interested again.
I'd love to see a graphic/model update as well. The game looks decent but a lot of models and textures look like they came straight out of vanilla WoW.

When I played opening week you could summon 2 dogs a zombie and some pygmys. That's not enough, a tru necromancer surrounds themselves with an army of the dead.

I believe there were builds that allowed you to amass and army of festishes, but like most summons in the game, they're temporary. WD is nowhere near Necro in having his own army.
