Halo was a slow paced arena shooter about regenerating shields, map control, knowing when to engage since running from fights is a lot harder than your typical shooter, and tactical use of weapons. Sprint ruins map flow. Especially when it is applied to the older Halo maps that were never built with sprint in mind.
How's Halo Wars 2 gonna be? I hope they don't fuck it up.

The first had a good story and the gameplay wasfun.
Its better than Reach and Halo 4, but not as good as the original trilogy. Sprint isnt as annoying as it was in those games since you can't sprint when you get shot. However, you can't perfect a fundamentally flawed mechanic.

The game sucked. I barely ever played much RTS but even I could tell Halo Wars felt like one of the most bare bones RTS ever. Was it even an RTS? That game could have easily worked as a shitty phone game.
There was great potential there for a Halo themed RTS game. It's gone now.
