So I just got back into Mario Maker after a 5 month break. Still one of the best games ever, and super fun. Only problem is that the game is super dead right now. wtf? I'll make a pretty sweet level and hardly get any plays. I have had even 2 levels auto deleted because nobody played them. Whats the deal? Also whats with all the japs online levels, the Japs make horrible levels but they are always the majority of the levels. I just want to play some good course and have people play mine. Whats the deal?
I remember the days when there were threads with people sharing all there levels, not anymore.
I think the activity will pick up again if we get another content update around E3. Threads have been hit or miss around here lately.

These are the best levels posted in this bread. But all the while they don't really do anything. It's like you hit the randomizer on normal Mario Bros. They're essentially just filler for anyone that played the original games

You should slow down on the level making and put more thought and effort into each individual level. If you keep going at this rate you'll fill your uploads with mediocre levels, and getting up to 50 stars might be rough.
SMM is a great tool minus the inability to use it to find good levels to play. The current rating system is garbage and there's no real way to segregate levels that are gimmicks, bug exploits, traditional, kaizo, etc. Obviously categorization would stifle emergent gameplay but having no system at all just makes it a cesspool of shit
It's really a shame because it could be so much more. I shouldn't have to wait for a /v/ thread to find good levels to play
