In MG1, Big Boss is the final fight, and you blow him up twice.
He's then miraculously alive somehow in MG2.
The idea is that MG1 Big Boss was the body double while the MG2 fight was the real one.

Speak for yourself. MGSV was a chore for me because of the shitty open world and the lack of good stealth elements.The gunplay was great, though. And the the game ran like a dream. Makes me wish Kojima had just made a different kind of game instead of feeling obligated to make MGSV with FOX Engine.
