In Old Yharnam? Just go to Hypogean Gaul and kill Darkbeast Paarl to unlock the shortcut to the bottom of Old Yharnam.
>>
>>339860328
So is Taurus Demon yet everyone considers it the first boss of dark souls. Same thing with Last Giant in DaS2.

Some tips for you
>dodge inwards, not away, dont be afraid to get alittle agressive, the game was made for this with the ralley system
>parry him with your bullets until he goes ape
>maybe play a few times with him without using blood vials/qs bullets to get his timing down
>if you want to cheese him, attack through the tombstones, but your better than that
>biggest advice I can give you is to use the music box, you get it from his daughter you talk to at a window near the big beat banging the door behind the mob
He wasnt to hard for me, in fact id go as to say hes the best boss in the game other than Geihrman and Ludwig, perfect way of teaching the player how to play bloodborne, not too tough, lots of exploits, but hes agresive and fast enough to give you a balanced challenge. For me I had a horrible time with Rohm and Shadows of Yarham, you can do it anon, good luck

Screw this guy.

Blood starved beast was a motherfucker to me.

So I just learned parrying because that was a lot quicker than dodging and waiting for an opening.

There is no wrong direction. You can do it either way. Typically guides say do old yarnham first, but I was wondering around and got lost and did tit the way the previous poster said on NG+ run.

That's the great thing about Souls/BB-- you can tackle things in so many different ways.

youll beat him trust me, one of the biggest problem with the souls community is the inclusiveness and snobbery. more than half of these people seriously have the same struggles you are having, if not worse but act like entitled butt babies about it. Not even close to true. Even if parrying is more encouraged than in Demon's/Dark Souls, it's about as essential as it is in those games.
>>
>>339858831
Literally the easiest boss in the game. I've never finished a Souls/BB game before and even I could beat this guy in two tries. Put obstacles between you and him and he can't do shit. Use the music box if you need a crutch.
>>
>>339863551
This is actually very important.

>>339858831
parrying is relatively forgiving and spamable in BB. You must not play this game like DS or you'll get in more trouble than necessary. It is a game about attack (just use the regain system) and parry. It just isn't optional. You can do it.

To be fair, BB is a huge change from DaS if you were accustomed to playing it with the "squat behind the giant shield" style. I personally played DaS in full Havel with the Havel shield, so BB was really fucking weird for me.
>>
I dropped the game here. Not because the game was too hard, I'm fine with hard. What I'm not fine was that after a couple of attempts I had completely run out of bullets and blood vials. So instead of continuing to fight the boss I was forced to go farm consumables for 40 minutes.

There was literally nothing wrong with estus. Forcing you to go farm items instead of just replenishing them at bonfires doesn't improve anything.

>>
>tfw you keep calling the Kirkhammer the Kikehammer by accident
>>
>>339865640
He does. I know. For me-- axe and meme blade, that was the safest strategy since he's a bit more predictable then. Circling around or running far away too often was most danger for me. I just kept baiting him. And never rush it. These bosses only have a few attacks. Half of the difficulty in a Souls game is caused by players getting greedy for that extra hit. Two hits and then leave. You think you can get a third one in, and that's when the boss takes all your health.

You can also screw around with signs and stuff like that, maybe give yourself the ability to take a bunch of blood vials and increase your fire resistance you know? You have lots of options. Good luck!

Lol yeah. I struggled with Watch Dog and Blood Letting/Starved beast a lot, so of course it's them in the half-health dungeon! And I think it was about an hour at least on Watch Dog. I hated it so much. But for me, in souls games-- yeah, learn their attacks, but I realize how much is my fault cause I want that extra hit. I mean, definitely the camera can get screwy and From loves bosses that take too much health off, but so many times, it's going for that third or fourth hit that gets me.

try and hug him to the left, bait his attacks and get behind a pillar if you need to use antidote, parrying him fucks him up to if you've gotten any practice with that

Shove a pike up his screeching ass and he's easy to kill. You can do a backstab on him every time he jumps at you.
>>
>>339865981
Man the fucking bloody crow of cainhurst was infuriating.
>>
>>339867325
He would play for a couple of hours every other day
Yeah he had never played a souls game before, he's given up completely after a year of having it he's causal as fuck
>>
>>339868130
Just use electric weapons and know to back off after a couple of hits to avoid his explosion.
>>
>>339868130
Dog becomes piss easy the moment you stop being aggressive and play by his rules
1 R2 to his head, react to his attack, and do another R2. Repeat until he's dead.
>>
>>339868361
having too much health =/= hard
nowhere did that post imply he was difficult, just that he has too much damn HP.
>>
>>339868394
I cheesed Bloody Crow because I was tired and just wanted to wrap the questline up. I know I should feel ashamed, but I'm not.
>>
>>339867706
the first time we got her to a fourth health, but that was my first time fighting her, so I died
I tried again and the summon and she died before a fourth of vicars health wen't down. felt like a waste of insight
>>
>>339868361
That's the reason I riked Bloodborne bosses. Didn't feel like a breeze like any souls game
>>
>>339868990
You're probably not being aggressive enough. The summon should tank most of the attacks, but it can't do all of them. If they take a full combo from a boss they're pretty much dead. You have to get the boss' attention once in awhile.

Most of the summons are completely useless for boss fights though, unlike Dark Souls. The one for Vicar was the only one that really did anything for me. Every other boss I had to solo.
>>
I finall fucking beat him, but died at the same time. Looks like it still counts, the boss is away now. Thanks anons

The boss that still gives me the most trouble is defiled amy just because it's a fucking tedious marathon of baiting an attack and hitting him once or twice.

Loran Darkbeast is also still tough despite having beaten him many times. I used to really hate Pthumerian descendant, Abhorrent Beast, and Headless Bloodletting Beast but I understand their patterns much better now than the first few times I fought them.
>>

The music box is a trap.

Use it 3~ times and he'll enter the final phase early. And it'll stop working.
>>
>>339868130
He was the easiest for me using the cane whip. Just whip the shit out of him and watch out for his charge. I felt like an actual beastmaster every time i fought this guy.
The best fight to use the whip with. Felt powerful.
>>
>>339864565

I played DaS 2handing with no shield the whole way

So none of them

I guess I had to go abnormally ham aggro on Spider

That's why you should only use it during the 3rd phase

Alfred is the executioner guy right? He's loyal to a fault, a real fanatic. Follow his questline.

You can run through Central Yharnam in about 10 minutes and pick up 40 vials if you're not an idiot.

This. In Dark Souls, you constantly throw yourself at a boss and aren't penalized other than losing souls. You can just run through the area.
In Bloodborne, you lose blood echoes and you don't get any vials replenished during the fight, forcing you to fight your way back to a boss.

In most cases killing everything before a boss is one of the worst ways to farm vials. Early game you're much better off sticking your fist in pig asses in hidden village, or getting loadsa souls in the lecture hall if you're a bit further along. At least that's where I would go if I needed them, I don't know where the cool kids super efficient blood vial farming locations are.

Werewolfs at the bridge before Beast is the place to go.
>>
>>339858831
Cheated and beat him with my whip while I stood behind shit.
But even on my first try where I didn't do that he didn't seem too hard.

>mfw I almost downed the fucking Crow on my first attempt but got greedy when he had a tiny sliver of health and gassed myself in a corner R1'ing him
>then he spreads my ass open for 5 more tries before I give up

Fuck that guy.
>>
>>339858831
Like all beasts he is weak against fire.
Throw oil on him.
Throw a fire bomb on him.
Repeat this about 3-4 times while constantly dodging and he is dead.
>>
>>339875557
He's so horrible.
>>
>>339875557
yep, he sucks
>>
>make it to forbidden woods
>kinda lost, getting fucked up a lot
>summon in some help
>first guy who shows up obviously knows where to go, leads me around
>a couple other guys tag in and out when my second summon dies, but the first guy is there the whole time
>literally an hour or more
>somehow make it to the boss door without dying
>go in and roll SoY with no trouble at all

I know I should feel shame for summoning on a boss, but honestly I didn't expect it would go that well for so long.
>>
>>339864565
I kinda already played like that since DaS 2 where I stopped using shields. The only difference is that in BB I hugged bosses a little bit more, and dodged into their attacks more frequently.

That hell-hole is what happens when you have a nightmare in Blightown.
>>
I use a Flaming Ludwigs sword, a Tonitrus, Ludwigs rifle and a Flamesprayer

Most boss fights end up with me flamespraying them for massive damage, it feels cheesy but it's just so strong against so many bosses.
>>
>>339878739
Fuck that swamp.
>>
>>339878739
At least it wasn't as bad as Dark Souls 2's Frigid Outskirts.
>>
I was only able to parry Gas twice, yet I can parry almost every other enemy. Can you parry Amelia or the giant white axe guys?
>>
>>339879519
No, but you can stun them if you do enough damage to their legs.
>>
>>339879519
I've never been able to parry in any soulsborne game
I just managed without it
