why do they have to ruin perfectly good games?

Female protagonist automatically means the game is SJW propaganda. Didn't you get the memo?

But playing as Emily is optional, you can be Corvo again.
And Emily isn't a hamfisted forced diversity thing, she was a character in the first game and is white.

Anon please. Go shitpost on /qst/ if you want to fuck up someone's thread.

What did he mean by this?
>>339860334
>truly, we are the dishonored
oh wait, that sounds ok
>>339860218
This is getting ridiculous. I'm as /pol/ as they come but I don't see at all how this is a big deal because Emily was already an established character. Are you just looking for things to be offended by?
>>339860508
It's probably a pipe dream but I think it'd be cool if Emily being there and Corvo being there were two seperate storylines. Like Corvo being there is the result of him catching the boat at the end of High Chaos and Emily being there is the result of low chaoswhy or how the fuck is emily outside of dunwall though
>>339859821
>grown-ass man being able to overpower several trained soldiers
I'm going to sound shilly as fuck but I'm sad there isn't more to Dishonored. I did a Clean Ghost playthrough and then a High Chaos playthrough one after another and it kills me how short the game feels.
I just beat Knife of Dunwall. Is Brigmore Witches any good? I want to play more but Knife of Dunwall was so short
>>339860218

>>339860984
Brigmore is v.good, Daud's DLC was better than the main campaign imo.
Dunwall City Trials is fun if you're into that kinda thing, I'd get it during summer sale or something, some of the minigames are a good laugh

>>339861268
>>339863031
I liked krusts exactly because you could flex some firepower. Shooting them dead with one crossbow bolt felt good, as did throwing a grenade into a cluster.
Anything else I only get to choke them or use a sleep dart.
Is it just me or is the game really easy?
Like it's fun, but even with the Ultimate Difficulty mod I blow through it. Though I guess I should do a Clean Ghost run before I say that.
>>339864347
IIRC difficulty doesn't change much aside from enemy damage + detection time. It's pretty easy to abuse blink to never be detected and enemies die so quickly that you can kill most of them without ever taking a hit
>>339858615
Damn, good memery dude
Now I remember my preorder for Dishonored 2 hasn't been placed
>>339864347
It is pretty easy. The DLC handled it a bit better, but it accomplished that by making enemies you don't want to fight, while Blink spam was nearly as OP.
Here's hoping 2 handles difficulty better.
>>339858615
>do you think you'll get a promotion for what happened last night
>yes, I believe so
>play the DLC
>congratulations on your promotion captain
>>339859436
I have to admit as a headline it is worrying when they say they want more diversity, but Harvey Smith has also said he won't confirm Emily's sexuality it is up to the player to decide whatever they like. I think in ideal world you would just tell the SJWs to fuck off since they don't play anyways and not include a bi character...still these days if throwing in a pointless bi character is what it takes to get the bullshit diversity complaints off your back then that's a small price to pay.
>>339869201
That was great.
I hope this time they let you use your powers without locking you into the bad ending
>>339859821
shes a trained assasin with magic powers in a video game, of course she can
I hope Callista makes a return.
Wait, no, she'd be old by now.
>>339870307
LOL, solid b8 to revitalize the thread
>>339870307
Never understood this. I've played multiple times using essentially only agility, blink, bend time, and maybe possession. If you want to make yourself into a supernatural murder machine just fucking do it and so whining like a bitch about it. You can still kill all the targets and get a good ending.
>the game doesn't reward me for killing everything in sight
Boo fucking hoo.
>>339870307
>implying high chaos is bad ending
They literally made a special version of Kingsparrow Island so you could go apeshit, with howling wind and thunderstorms and a little civil war in the middle of it
Besides your bait is moot because you can still kill some people in normal gameplay wihout getting High Chaos. Try fighting and escaping when you get caught instead of hitting the quickload key.
>>339870307
Have you ever noticed that when a game offers you the chance to play an extreme morality angle (clean hands vs 100+ kills per level) instead of walking the middle road, with in-universe consequences to boot people will always be surprised that going apeshit results in bad things?
What did you expect to happen after you wiped out a prison, two guard checkpoints, an aristocrat party, a military installation, and a sewer system of refugees? Like what's the fucking alternative.
>>339870621
The game does reward you for it.
It adds enemy spawns and traps so you can combatan even more than you do in a low chaos playthrough.
>>339860218
Your ignoring the fact that the "teenage girl" your talking about has super powers.
She wouldn't be able to beat the guards without those.
>>339871886
i know right
if anything, isn't it good writing when the game gives you the choice of killing people and then acknowledges if you made taht choice, as opposed to having to kill people anyway and the game touting whatever morality it wants to
it's why dishonored andundertaleamong other games feels better written, compared to something like spec ops: the line
spec ops has great presentation but in the end you didn't really have any choices that mattered
>>339872010
Not him, but those super powers are castable magic, as well as the upgradeable passive buffs, assuming she has the same set-up as Corvo and Daud.
Corvo and Daud are explicitly stated to be dangerous, well-trained fighters before getting superpowers. Emily is a princess.
I think the one thing I really like about Dishonored is the way the story and things around you change depending on how you interact with the environment. It changes the amount of rats and plague the city suffers through, the tension on the streets, how people both good and bad react to you, the final level of the game gets changed dramatically, and even the ending has several different ways for Emily to grow up. The game's a little bit simple in its mechanics (blink everywhere) and AI, but I really like all the little stuff they did within the world and the budget.
>>339859436
>Dishonored
>Good game
>>339872248
Trained from a young age by Corvo. The time since the end of the first game to the start of the second has had Corvo teaching Emily. She did other things I'm sure, but learning from a young age the skills of Corvo both supernatural and otherwise I think would make up the difference a fair bit.
I am so disappointed by the explanation for the Outsider
>>339872794
>weebs
>not the worst shitposters on this site
will Dishonored 2 allow you to use powers/killing without getting the shitty ending?
that was the only thing that bummed me out of Dishonored, all the cool shit you can do and you get punished for it

The daughter of literally the most dangerous man in the world
>>339874663
I would have preferred an eldrich underwater leviathan, but having him be a human-turned-Tzeentch is pretty cool too. What matters is that he's still a near-omnipotent chaotic god that gets bored with what we'd see as pretty interesting.
>>339874927
IF YOU WANT TO KILL EVERYONE WHY NOT GO FULL GRIM REAPER AND ROLL WITH THE BAD ENDING THAT MAKES THE LAST LEVEL ALL STORMY AND SHIT
Seriously, what's shitty about the """"bad"""" ending compared to the alternative
>>339874927
my only problem with Dishonored is the fact that playing peaceful is nowhere near as fun as playing chaos
it's a bigger challenge which is cool, but it's not as entertaining as just mowing everyone down
>>339860984
>I'm sad there isn't more to Dishonored
