I know it is annoying but the reloading of the AR coupled with different ammo than the minigun's in SS3 was a massive improvemend over the tommy gun. And what the pistol did wrong was the recoil, when not aiming down the sights it has bullet spread just like cawadoody, I'm still mad to this day

I don't know what the fuck they were smoking, every other enemy in Serious Sam has a distinct silhouette, or a vibrant color to help the player immediately recognize it. But not these assholes.

I really liked AR, it was my go-to weapon.

The complicated, twisty level design from the start of BFE without the fucking same environments everywhere. I loved fighting through all those alleys, streets, and tunnels but everything looked the same for like 2-3 hours.

Don't make it the whole game of course, you need space for the hordes thrown at you later on. But I think there's a spot for alley fights near the start, for like an hour at most.

Also, revamp the melee system. Blocking and parries could be good but make it an awful choice against big groups.

Ideally?

-Bring back the Grenade Launcher from TFE/TSE (but also give it the animation from classic, I don't know why they removed it in HD)
-Also bring back the flamethrower
-Ditch the hammer and bring back the chainsaw, or at least bring back the chainsaw since we're not gonna have the Syrian Mutilator this time around
-Don't make retarded decisions like hiding the lasergun and sniper in secrets areas exclusively. Also don't make the sniper fucking useless
-Don't go back to boring and grey urban environments, take us somewhere colorful
-Don't put in any more annoying enemies. Scrapjacks and Khnums were fun, but everything else annoying at best and abysmal at worst (looking at you, Witch)
-Ditch reloading for anything but the pistol
-NO CRAMPED DARK CLAUSTROPHOBIC PLACES. I want Serious Sam not Doom 3
-Introduce fun and wacky new weapons, maybe a railgun or a lightning gun
-Secrets not places in shitty places. There are quite a few cases in BFE where I had a hard time getting there due to the geometry (not platforming, I mean I would just fall off for no reason or I couldn't pass through)
-Alternate fire for weapons
-Better animations
-Bring back Klodovic.
-Get Undercode to do the boss music again, or at least use something from Enlightening the World (Alone is pretty cool)
-Make Sam fun again. He came off as a bit of a douche in BFE.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I actually like reloading for lower tier weapons that have almost straight upgrades (like the shotgun/assault rifle). It lets them make the guns more powerful, which means they're useful for more of the game but gives them a drawback that means you still wouldn't want to use them over the better weapons most of the time.

The only enemies that the chainsaw was OP against were the marsh hoppers and gnaars, with everything else it was more practical to use any weapon.

It can continuously damage kleers with the chainsaw as long as it's touching them, but you still need to dodge their attacks.

The flamethrower works similarly, but has a much longer range and you only need to hit the enemy once for them to immolate and take continuous damage for a short while.

The Chainsaw also takes out small to medium sized Kleer groups easier than the shotguns could ever. The chainsaw makes the shotguns redundant.

Not that it's saying much, the only time the shotguns was good was in Serious Sam 2, where they had good spread and good damage.

My only problem with Jewel of the Nile was the jetpack area. It was a clusterfuck that somehow still felt crowded despite my new movement option.
