People in this thread don't seem to know what "objectively" means. Unskippable cut scenes are objectively bad because they cannot make the game better. At best, they don't change the player's experience (i.e., when the player wants to watch the cut scenes). In every other case, they can only serve to make the game worse. There is no possible benefit.

You not liking some game with procedural generation does not make procedural generation inherently bad.

I can't think of a single game that pulled radomly generated dungeons better than actually designed dungeons, bet it a Elder Scrolls that start repeating their layout patterns and gets old pretty fast or a Persona that has absolutely nothing going on for them, so yeah, having random dungeons for the sake of quantity over quality does drop the quality of the game

It's the same reason why playin the special stage in Sonic 3 & Knuckles is always more satisfying than playing Blue Spheres

Why am I wrong? If an NPC walks at that speed then you constantly have to run forward about 10 paces and wait, and then run another 10 paces and wait.

It's much more irritating than being able to move at a constant speed.

Following sequences are trash anyway. If it's not gameplay, then it should be a skippable cut scene. You must be a game journalist if you think "hold W for a few minutes while this guy talks" is the good part of a game.

In any case, having the NPC move at walking speed would be sufficient to allow the player to catch up in any game in which the player can both walk and run, and having the NPC stop and wait for a straggling player would be sufficient in any game regardless of the player's movement options.

Make the animation use 1 arm and let me shoot with the other with reduced accuracy, don't restrict movement while both my hands twist their neck around, make the default action to use their body as a shield first and have me press another button to let go, just don't make me watch a repetitive cutscene which stops the game every time I need to kill something.

Funnily enough I was thinking of Dark Souls when I wrote that post.
It's so bullshit. There are so many fights that I would enjoy if losing just meant trying again instead of being bored for ten minutes.

The worst thing is in most areas it's quite difficult to rush to the boss without taking hits, but going through methodically takes time and is incredibly easy, so you're stuck between probably losing health or being bored out your fucking mind. And when you get there after being methodical and bored all the adrenaline and shit has worn off from the previous attempt so you're slow on the uptake again.

I'm fine with a game kicking the shit out of me as long as it doesn't also waste my time.

No, it does not do the same thing with bonfires. Bonfires don't directly interact or acknowledge anything outside of the game.
The fourth wall is the theoretical barrier between the player and the in-game universe. While you could stretch that definition as far as to say that any in-game messages or notifications or U.I. could be considered fourth wall breaking, most don't.
Breaking the fourth wall is essentially any interaction or acknowledgement of something outside of the game that's integrated into the story in some way.

Everyone fondly remembers Psycho Mantis for breaking the fourth wall, but after undertale people crop up and say "Fourth wall breaks, how lazy, this completely ruins any and all story elements of the game."

Undertale didn't even go straight for the "look directly at the camera here we go again amiright" sort of fourth wall breaks. It was intergrated in the story in an original way, and the player actually had to look deep into the game for it to make total sense the the complete perspective of the narrative.
