I'm 25. I've done a lot of gaming in my day man. I played GTA1 on ps1, spent my days at the arcade playing metal slug and my teens blown away on Rome TW and War3. MineCraft is fucking sick it just needs a few tweaks to be the perfect game.

I agree survival isn't perfect but there's a lot to it. Set number of dungeons to 100 really changes thing in terms of exploration. I love building new set ups for auto/semi auto farms and mob breeders in my comfy bases.

What are THE core rooms for your survival base? My base is single rooms connected downwards by a ladder so far I have:
>Roof storage
>1st floor out door farm, chicken/cow/sheep breeder and crafting room
>2nd floor food room with breeder collection
>3rd room bedroom
>4th room armoury/smithy
>5th room brewery
>6th room enchanting
>7th room portal room
>8th room ore furnace room
>9th-12th still to be decided

I set up a largely vanilla survival server recently with intent to play with some friends but it's sitting unused right now. I usually just try city build in creative but would be happy to do the same in survival, I've got no one willing to do that with me right now though. Posting on 4chan usually results in griefers.
I've got no idea what a decent way to gather people just looking to build together is.

Not a bad idea, helps with testing how things size up. Personally I really enjoy putting up a scaffold in survival and just trusting my instinct.

If you're in a mineshaft, and it's easy to get lost, if you bring one with you in a cage, you release it and it leads you to the surface. Modded Minecraft has one-upped vanilla indefinitely. I just don't get it how they let that happen.
